So i found someone thats got both!
I know its abit early to ask since you just got it,but if you had to pick only one out of the two, what would you keep, the 14 or the 1000?
Im bout to buy one,but cant pick between 07 models,zx14,gsxr1000,or busa....
Its killing me man ..
I got both, I pick my 14 hands down. You have to be really hardcore about carving up twisties to consider a 1000, IMO, because that's the only place the 1000's excel. Comfort isn't even close to the 14, and the 14 clearly has the edge in the power department.

Damn dbeadling and phytrax so the zx is that good!
Wish i could own both!
Hmm,im thinking of posting up what one of the riders from fastbikes uk magazine told me about picking between the two,and that he rekons the 07 gsxr is faster than the zx but im not here to start thread wars,i just want the truth!
Ok,so i opened up my email and this is exactly what he said...
Incase yous all thought im spinning shit.
I value there opinions simply because there unbiast in the way as in they get to
thrash every bike under the sun an tell it how it is...And they happen to be half decent riders as well...
"Straight race - in practice the GSX-R1000 is fastest from standing or rolling start
Busa or ZZR might cover 0-60 (100kph) faster with a really aggressive start because its weight stops it wheelying, but the clutch won't survive too many of those. Real world, real traffic lights etc, the lighter and more powerful GSX-R rules.
Also in rolling start in a high gear at low revs the ZZR's torque would probably send it ahead, but a rolling start at higher revs would see the GSX-R win.
Overall, GSX-R is faster"
Who knows what to beleive,Like mentioned before, someone said the blackbird was still the fastest on some other website...
website :S
On a better note, dbeadling, were frothing for pics pics pics!!!!

I really love the look of that bike. I had a black and orange 03. Still kick myself in the ass for getting rid of that one.

the roads are dry and the weather is warming up and I have been out riding. the 1000 is a beast. 1400 owners beware. this thing is a blast to ride but very uncomfortable for an old man to ride. sorry about the pics but the wife works for a living. and helps me out on her schedule not mine.the 1000 makes alot of h/p and is very light and not so forgiving on cold roads.I can light up the tire in the first 3 gears at will and even with leaning over the handlebars and hanging on tight the bike wants to stand up on one wheel any thing over 5000 rpm.the 1400 is more forgiving even with the flies out...a power commander and a brock pipe.the 100 pounds difference can really be felt. the 1400 might be faster in the 1/4 mile only because it is easier to get off the line fast. and has alot more torque. but peak h/p is a real rush on the 1000 and happen fast. I dont have alot of miles on the 1000...340 so far...so I dont want to stress the motor to much and have been taking it easy but this thing does make a ton of h/p. and is not for the faint of heart. stock vs stock I got to give it to the 1000 for roll ons. to early to tell about top end... but you guys will hear it hear here first....ps sorry about the pics....maybe tomorrow. still love the 1400. ps ....the ABC mode really does work. go from dog mode...like a 600 that needs a tune up. to faster....to you gotta be nuts mode. bike feels like its ice skating on cold roads. I had a new 1972 z28 that would light up the tires at will. the 1000 feels the same way.

I love the gixxer. love the R1 too, and the CBR, and the ZX10. And the gixxer seems to be the most comfortable I've ridden in my opnion, and the R1 the most uncomfortable, maybe its that super-hard seat and exhaust combo on my arse. But that R1 is awesome.
still glad I got the baby beast 14 for the street and the little 600RR for the track~

the 100 seat is a board with a little foam on it. and hurts like hell after 30 minutes I guess they had to save weight ever where. the foot pegs are tiny and my size 12 feet hardly fit. its the price you pay to go like the wind. or maybe I have spending to much time in the lazy boy this winter .
