quote: thanks for the input, I will admit to some concern regarding the bed height on the 4x4. The trailer idea sounds like sensible utility, now I've gotta talk myself outta oogling this Tundra...weird..I dont even really like trucks! I'll get me figured out sometime..

LOL..thats not even an option, I aint cool enough to play in that sand box.
Ya know, I presumed that we "assumed" folks would be employing these proper and correct ramps to get the bike into the truck bed, and with the comments stating what a pain and trouble it could be to get a bike into and strapped down I figured there was more I obviously was missing...
Fact is I would almost definitely be loading and unloading the bike alone,
The fingers on those ramps are rubberized so as to grip the tailgate but would you all suppose it can be rely'd upon to hold with safety considering the minor loading and unloading of the trucks suspension as you wheel it up and down the ramp and also the lack of a reliably grippy roadsurface to help the more friction friendly tailgated end....or just go with a trailer 'cos experience has told y'all it's simply just easier and friendlier?
Let me inject a thank you for all the constructive suggestions and advise, much of this might be a no brainer to many of you guys but for me this truck ownership idea and trying to envision how daily-driver ownership with it might be is not easy. I expect to make a vehicle choice in a week or two and whichever way I go, I'll likely be stuck with it for 3-4 years so I'm trying to get it right.
Ninja12, your suggestion is under very, very serious consideration, I have no doubt that most of my trailering will be for local runs like the dealer service dept. So long as I can substantiate that a hitch will in no way compromise my warranty it will surely be on my list for serious investigation.
Tundra or Passat....hmm
