1st Impression @ 100 miles...also
1. Not sure I like the "Ninja" decals on the front of the Black bike
2. Love the centerstand..installed myself around 2.5 hours
3. Running 87 Octane I did hear a "Ping" Guess I'll have to go to 91 Octane
4. So far I'll give it a 9.0 till I get flies out and pipe

It 'll probably take 87 octane in summer months, I noticed mine pinged really bad late last , fall, but not in summer, on 87, which is odd as higher ambient, thus engine temps bring on detonation as well as octane, so I believe the winter blends have been oxygenated, or have higher butane content.
i went to 91 in October, before having to park it due to snow.

yes I agree, but lower octane makes more power as long as it don't ping, sometimes in remote area's the premuim goes stale!

Ha, all we have here are a few new corvettes. I've only seen one viper. Most of the nice ones around here are old muscle cars though. Alot of drag racers around here.

Anyone ever try a little octane booster with the 87 pump gas? I question the freshness of the higher octane stuff in my area. It doesn't seem like many people are buying it.

Brock has stated that 87 or 89 can be run,
if its not a winter blend,,, oxygenated, I was good.
Soon as they oxygenated or blended with more butane I could tell, immediatly it pinged just idling away from intersections. Went back to 91 at that point.
In fact my old ford started pinging too, so it was really shitty fuel, tried different stations, same result.
Alot of ppl don't realise that most fuels come from the same refineries closest to their geological location, regardless of what brand gas station they go to.
Buying fuel at busier stations is the best bet, no matter what type you run.

I don't think we've got 91 around here. 87, 89 and 93 is what's at our pumps.
