I was told that it is called the transmission bolt. Right side just above the oil fill/dip stick. It uses a 8mm. It's hollow all the way through to the other side. Sorry not good at putting pictures up. And I'm ordering a manual this week but want to get this done. Anyone had this out and how?

If its the large bolt at the back of the cases, and the one I'm thinking of, it goes through the swingarm and frame too, you have to unload the rear suspension, and drive it out with an extension.

Actually it is just above and to the right of the bolt that goes through the swingarm. It is the one that is just above dip stick. Thanks for the help. It is a tough crowd at this sight. And I did order a manual for the bike this morning but I would like to get the bike back together before this weekend.

1bigkaw I don't think the guys ment be hard on you ..When i read it i could not understand what bolt you were talking about so i didn't answer your post ... I parted out an 06 zx14 and took that bolt out with no problems ..I did it so fast i don't remember what i used to remove it ..Hell i took the hole bike apart in an hour... I beleave i used a punch to remove the locking nut and then used an allen wrench to back off the spacer that loads the spacer between the case and the frame and then slid the bolt right out .. That my have been for the swing arm bolt but the motor bolt has them same spacer that screws into the cases between the frame and cases... Smokin...

Maybe this'll help clarify what the hell the "transmission bolt" is...I assume you're referring to one of the three in the pic below???????????

If he's having trouble getting any bolt loose, I'd say it's from the loctite that kawasaki uses quite generously. I had a hell of a time getting the motor mount bolts loose to install my frame sliders. So I don't confuse anyone, this bolt is in front of the foreman grills

I wish I was better at this whole computer thing and also with the wrenches. The bolt is to the left side of this picture, it uses an 8mm alan. It is hollow and silver just above and a little to the left of the dipstick. I have continued to try to get it off different ways; heat (for the loctite), puching it through (but not hard) from the other side (as one mech. told me to), and like I said before even broke a 8mm off on it. I continue to find pictures on their site of a 14 and other Kaw's and it is installed there. So I have the right bolt but what the hell? The boys who sell these and make them said they installed them on Ricky Gadson's bike in 20 minutes! I'm going to be pushing 20 days soon. I really like the whole idea behind them (the idea that they will be better than normal sliders) or I would send them back. So I'm still trying.

On the 12,there is another piece directly on the other side that tightens up the mount when you turn it counter-clockwise.It will never loosen up that way.Go to the other side of the bike above the shifter and loosen that nut.It will probably be a 15 or 17mm socket.

Won't budge that way either. This whole thing (getting this bolt out and installing these) seems so fu.... simple. What the fuck? I should be getting the manual tommorrow but why can't I figure it out right now? I'll be on medication before these fu.....kers get installed.

So it's #4 in the pic below??? If so, that's the rear motor mount bolt. Remove the nut from the other side and then MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT-SIZED ALLEN WRENCH...preferrably a long one to get extra torque on it, or just add an extender to get extra torque........or just buy the type I got from ebay: http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZsupplyQ28nQ29demand

Good luck...
