Need help with pricing of 07 zx-14 in black w/ chrome wheels
I've gone to a dealer to have a look and finally lock down my purchase, I'm pretty set on the black. The one at this particular dealer has chrome wheels, it's no real big deal to me chrome or not I really dont care but for you guys that know, does the black 07 come with Chrome wheels?
This dealer claims an MSRP of $12599 and has their "selling" price at $11899, evidently because it has Chrome wheels. I thought it was total bullshit.
In an effort not to put my foot in my mouth and come across as less informed when talking to the salesguy, I made the excuse of just gathering info and wanted to post up here so that I can get some clarity.
You guys with the black 07's, did they come with chrome wheels and did you pay "extra" for your bike as a result. If you dont mind me asking, what was the price you paid for the stock black bike before tax, tags, etc?
It's a shame, if I was feelin' the blue bike they had an 07 for $10,800, I was hoping for that for the black.

it is a good price, if my 07 black ever gets here, i am paying 11650 for mine d.o.

no they dont come with chrome far as i know. they added it

For compairson, I bought my 06 CTB when they were first out for 10500.00 otd. Later added chrome rims that I bought outright, no exchange for just under 1000.00. Have seen the chromies for around 800.00 exchange. So if it is otd price, not so bad....TB

Definately a fair price. You will be glad you got the chrome on delivery rather than messing around later if you wanted it done.

I really appreciate the feedback; you guys have thankfully helped me not place my big muddy boot firmly in my mouth.
I went down there with a mindset that I was ready to get this thing done today, then I saw the price they had posted and from what I know the MSRP of the zx-14 to be and what I've seen many of you other guys post up for your OTD prices,what I saw on the bike was waaay off. I was thinking "who are they tryin' to rape",
I know of some guys that just gotta have chrome this and chrome that and I simply am not that guy so I didnt drool over the fact that the wheels were chrome as to make me overlook what I thought was a greedy markup.
I've seen a few pics with guys with 07's and chrome wheels so I assumed the black came with the chrome wheels, I concede that they look good on the bike and because my mind has been put at ease by your gracious feedback I think I"m going to go back and "lick the grips" as I like to put it...that is if nobody else came in and bought the bike when I walked away..hopefully not.
Here's to finally joining the ranks with you guys finally, been a member and participant for a while but now I'll finally have the bike. My initial mods are gonna be simple, just a PC3 and the Brocks street meg, muzzy sliders and fender elim, that'll do me for now.

Sounds like they want 1100 for the chrome wheels.
Offer them 10,800 for the black with stock wheels if you don't want the chrome.
YOu can get yours done later for ~$600, but you will have downtime and labor involved.

Bought my Black 07 for 10,199 out the door at Honda East Toledo....go there buy one and have the wheeld chromed yourself...I've seen 07's as cheap as 9999 in Arizona......try Cycletrader.com do a search on new zx14

The Speed Trip is a sexy looking bike and a blast to ride, but the 14 is a rush. Did you get yours yet? After you get a few miles on her, I highly recomend the no flies mod. It's like getting a whole new bike all over. It makes the throttle a lot more linear.
