At long last..on the cusp of becoming a zx-14 owner..need a little help with add-ons

Well after being a member here ever since the '06 zx-10 was launched I am finally where I need to be to go ahead and make my zx-14 purchase. The sense I get here is that a lot of you guys drag-race, I dont fall into that category, so I dont see doing anything 'big' to the bike when I get it but I do want to do a few things. I wont have much to spend because as it stands this will make bike number 3 so there are just too many mouths to feed generously.

I was wondering; I intend to get a set of slip-ons primarly to unleash the sound, simple truth is it already has more than enough power so I'm not about chasing that last 5% of power, I live in Pennsylvania and have 2 other bikes so I dont need to go chasin speeding tickets that'll put my insurance up so high that I'll be on the bread line so please no comments about why I'm wasting time and half-assin' it with slip ons instead of a full system. Quite simply economics comes into play with this also and is a very real deciding element.

I'm a zealot regarding crash sliders, I've posted this before but for you guys that have the Muzzys are they recommended or are another option ones I should persue?

Which slip-ons give a sound one will be happy with and how much are they?

Will I require a PowerCommander with the slip-on, Should I get one anyway because they have proven to be one of the invaluable mods to do?

I'm in no rush to take the flies out, I'm certain I will at some point and when that happens I'm sure I would need the PC3, but right off the batt should I get it...again I'm expecting to have slip-ons.

Is a higher screen one that you guys recommend and feel is worthwhile? Which ones have you tried and are pleased with.

I've decided it's sensible to get the extended warranty as I plan to hold onto this bike for a while. Kawa has that 'good times' warranty for 4-years, any of you guys have it, how much did you pay?

Again, I'm not planning to go crazy modding this bike, for me its a bike to fill the void that my repli-racer and naked dont especially in the area of comfort, distance and wind protection. So after hanging out here for a year or so I'm finally going to become an owner and truly join the fold.

Feedback appreciated in advance...

Here's a pic from my phone-cam of my last add-on from a few weekends ago.... if you look real close at the pic you can even see a bike in it!

Well here's the other side with an exhaust add-on:

And I promise one day I'll take the time to remove the reflectors!

I've had mine under a month now and should clock over the 3,000kms this weekend.
I got a set of Remus Slip ons (baffles out) - sound is totally awesome - very deep and grunty.

I don't have a power commander yet, but after riding the bike I'm pretty sure the flies will be coming out (probably do flies, foam air filter and power commander at the next service). I don't think slip ons alone would require the PC, but that with either filter and/or flies probably would. Probably be able to use it now, but by doing it all at once I'm saving changing setup in the meantime.

Before I got the bike I doubted the flies out would interest me at all, but the bike seems to be so severely crippled down low that it's almost a must do. I just have a couple of nagging doubts about the change in wet/slippery conditions that are making me hold back from it a little.

Can't see any need for a screen (personally), but for the first time I'm considering a set of heli-bars or other hi rise extensions (stretch is just a fraction too far for me to be able to change position as much as I like on long rides)

I have riden my 14 now for almost a year without mods. I have had no complaints but the time is coming for some and I too have the mouth feeding thing. I plan to go with Qwick mods on the pipes but if you want to bolt on and go you might look at AeraP slip ons. Sound good and have a better than stock look. I also hear D&D's sound good and price Muzzy's. My old YZF ran a full D&D race and I had no issues at all. At over 6' I can do without a new screen. Unless you plan half day rides on the highway or are well over 6' you should be ok.

I do not think Brock has slip ons for the 14 but if he did I am sure he would sell a lot of them. He is starting to create a name for himself.

Ride it a while (no more than 2 weeks) before you do alot of mods.

Slip-ons are nice for sound. Pick up a few ponies and drop a few pounds.
You don't need a pc with slip-ons.

A lot of people use different screens, but I have found that my head is barely in
clean air with the stock screen. If I lean my head down slightly, I get into the more
turbulent air and have a lot more wind noise. Imo the shorter screen is better
unless you spend a lot of time in the tucked position.

I have an almost new set of D&D slip-ons in the classifieds section if you are
interested. Most cost around $500 or more new. The D&D's have a very low mellow tone.
Not raspy like the old D&D's were. Awesome sound. I wish my new Brocks pipe
sounded as good, but it's all give and take.
