We have two diff targets. You are going for a track only bike and you did it right - you have much more power potential, but I wanted a streeter. 305?...........your bike made that 305 :-)
To get the turbo positioned where I wanted I did have to go low, Bob......and I do have a pump for the "earl"
With all you people giving me pressure........I am taking off next Tue and probably Wed to get-er-done......
I'll let yall know how it went.......good or BOOM :-)

Mines going to Sacramento Raceway this Saturday. It will probably spin the tire the whole lengh of the track. At least that's my prediction.
We have it dialed down a bit on boost, to about 275hp. Kinda like training wheels. Dial it down til I get used to it, then dial it back up. Got some 118 octane race gas in it now, so no worries in that department.
No predictions on times or mph's. Just gonna have fun. It should be able to pull a 9.0 with me sitting straight up. If it looks like I'm gonna get a bunch of passes, I may mount the video camera on the tank and see what it looks like.

Yep....have fun.....
I am setting the boost very low at first and I am only using pump gas for all tests. It'll take time to get used to even 5psi.....
Vid it.............we will see track - sky - track - sky - track............and then a blur to the end :-) - plus you laughing like crazy :-)

ninja14, man that turbo header looks great. I too can make my own kit but chit, I'd rather buy one now. I used to love doing stuff like kits and such but as many as I have made for Mustangs and all that I am burned out.
Will your turbo use a integral wastegate like ifyhi's turbo has? That is much easier IMO. Also, will you offer turbo options as well?
Now geter done so I can order one.

Brent, If you built a lotta car turbos then you know that those cheapie dashpot kinda wastegates are not the best way to go. They are prone to rod breakage and other problems.
I probably would have still gone w/ one, but it simply would not fit and allow me to have the turbo placement I wanted - and the oil cooler was in the way as well. I am using a TIAL type wastegate that will be mounted in front of the right grill and the BOV will be in front of the left grill. They will be easier to adjust since they will be pretty easy to get to.......plus it helps show off the "goods" when people look the bike over.
If all goes well I will have it done in time to send it down the track on the 10th.....and I ride to and from the track - so it will get some testing :-)

Well to be honest, I've never dealt with a turbo smaller than a 76mm so I've always used the Turbonetics Racegate WG's. I've never even touched a small turbo like those for bikes so that is why I was thinking that the integral was a better choice. I guess that type of stuff is debateable as well since iflyhi's bike has one of those WG's from that turbo company.
Good luck and keep us posted as I am anxious as all others for a $3000 kit.

Might be an off the wall question but will all these turbos and the filter being out in the elements how often do you have to change the filter or are they like k&n's and you just service them

They are K & N filters. You just spray on some cleaning solution, wash them in warm water, and let them dry in the sun. The re-oil and off you go.
As far as riding in the rain, why would you want to ride a turbo in the rain?? Sounds kinda suicidal if you ask me. If you get caught in a rain storm, I guess you could continue on, but I'd pull off and wait it out.

I have got caught in the rain on my Turbo ZRX and never caused a problem.........As long as you don't twist the throttle hard ... Think of it as a cheap water injection system ..lol...

What - this is not a car forum......
Actually the box was a parts carrier I grabbed from my truck, but it is the box of the Snow Performance watrer/methenol enjection kit - which is already on the bike for future use.....
