Can you use coolant undiluted?

Just bought some to top off the 14 and it gives specs on the back when cut 50% with water...do I have to go out and buy distilled water now or can I use it undiluted?

You can buy the pre-diluted variety or you can add water. I don't bother with distilled in my cars but in the bike, I prefer it. Straight antifreeze doesn't cool as well as 50/50 mix, so no, don't use it straight.

For every 1% glycol you add, you raise cylinder head temp approx 1 degree, so
50/50 would be 50 degrees hotter. You just need enough to lubricate the pump,
and keep from freezing. I only use about 2 cups. Just a FYI.

Unless it's gonna freeze, I've never used anything but about a 75/25 mix of distilled water and water wetter.

What stops the corrosion in engines. Isn't it antifreeze? If so, how much antifreeze do you need to stop this from happening. What is water wetter? I'm not sure we get it here in SA.

I put in a bottle of Engine Ice and the rest is dist water.

Pure water would be best, but the metals won't like it........

Don't use it at all if you go to a drag strip, the stuff doesn't evaporate and needs to be burned off the track which is a monumental waste of time.

I use one bottle of redline and the rest is water...works fine for me and runs cool. The PC maps make a huge difference when you lean them out though...night and day.
