Am I the only one that gets this?

When I tell people that I got a ZX14, I always get these responces. Man, why do you need a bike like that? Or, You better be careful on that thing. Or, you're gonna get killed on that thing. People just don't know what it's like to own a bike like this. I guess they think that just because it's so powerful, that you automatically have to go fast on it. I can cruise at 55 on this thing just as easy as I can blast up to 140 on a straight. People just don't get it. Sorry, just had to vent a little

I don't get that much on mine. Once in a while I get something about killing myself just because it's a sport people. The people who actually know what a ZX-14 is are usually impressed a little. Most people look at me funny when I tell them it's comfortable.

Next time just tell them that you got it so you could stop when a car pulls in front of you instead of just sliding into it like a Harley.

I do get that response from some. I look at it like this... There are basically two types in this world... Sheep and Wolfs.

The Sheep... They just can not comprehend unnecessary risk; they cruise through life grazing on the grass of life and huddle together to be safe and warm at night. What an illusion, life can take you anytime.

The Wolfs... We race through life looking for adventure and stimulating things to do, it is what makes life worth living. We go out at night looking for excitement and fun howl at the full moon.

""Next time just tell them that you got it so you could stop when a car pulls in front of you instead of just sliding into it like a Harley. ""

I don't care who ya are, that's funny right there!

I'm actually just plain numb by such conversations. From even my own wife, to relatives, and co-workers. Enjoy yer Harleys and v twin ricers, whatever. I must be a crazed lunatic with a death wish to ride a bike like this...fine. You get it, or you don't. At least they can say "I told you so", if I get smeared on my 12..and continue tip-toeing through life until some horrible ailment, or other unfortunate thing gets em.
I go for many nice, easy rides on my bike. I'm also very fond of tearin' it up, when need be.
My '00 12R almost put me underground. Imagine that conversation with ol wifey...

I get it all the time. What gets me is when it's someone on a harley, bmw, or other
non sport bike. They seem to have this major denial. that it won't happen to them
because their bike isn't capable of 185mph. Whatever. I'm with Tool Man. Wolf all the way!

Could not have said it better myself.

I guess when you stand 5 foot 4 inches tall, you really get them looks you speak of. I try to throw them off by talking like Smokey from the Geico Ads...And I'm pretty good too.

Fuzzy Bunnies..Yea that does stick.

Yeap I get that and more! People say why did you just get a 1000 or something. Having it stretched with the 2.5lb bottle between it's legs don't help. They ask if I have velcro sewn onto my ass of what's going to happen if a car jumps in front of me. "OK I might not be the smartest person in the world but how about uhhhhhhhhhhh.......oh yeah Stop! I mean I could be wrong.

When I get that I give them a perplexed stare, and ask if they enjoy sex?
I then ask if they remember the best sex partner they ever had?

I then explain...
Well it next best to great sex!!!

then some of the girls ask for a ride!!!

the losers that don't get it are the busa boys with all their comments. I didn't buy mine to compete with them but they instantly go on the defense all the time. Usually they are very fu***** rude. But never have they out run me!!!!! And yes it is a very comfortable bike for me also.

Thanks. I didn't think I'd get all these replies. I also got the one about "why didn't I just get a 10R". My answer, "the 14 was way more comfortable than the 10 and it only cost $300 more" I had one friend who used to ride sportbikes alot, then he sold his and hasn't rode in a long time. He went with me when I bought my first bike (01 zx6r). He said I was kinda crazy for getting this 14. That was until I let him ride it. Now he say's "man that thing don't play around" and "it's real comfortable and smooth". He said if he wasn't married, he'd have one. One ride is all it takes! That's what made me buy one
