Ok, I put the 16 tooth sprocket on and finally got to ride it today. Around town it didn't feel much different than the 17 T gear. SOOOO I took it out to my favorite downhill on ramp where I can usually hit 75mph or so before I have to merge onto the highway and turned it loose. With no flys, Brock's pipe and PC and the 16 T, I must admit I WAS NOT ready for what happened next. The front end came at least a foot off the ground ( going downhill) and I immediately started grinning like a kid who had just gotten everything on his Christmas wish list. HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU GUYS AT SEALEVEL KEEP THE FRONT END DOWN ON THESE THINGS?? I thought I knew fast, I drive a 800HP small block Vega in bracket competition here in Denver, but this thing is the new King of the garage. I think I understand why Kawasaki neutered this bike. Damn, I'm in love again!!!

Yup exaxctly what i posted last june, totally different machine, and my exact words... like fallin in love all over again!

I miss my bike!!

Bike on steroids

Yeah mate I totally know how ya feel. I got all the advice online and I'm halfway through my beasts metamorphosis. I've got the flies out and I'm waiting on the PCIII from the US to arrive down under... Crikey it already hammers now, can't wait to get the PCIII onboard and the mixture and maps right. As you say "different bike". My mate has times down the quarter before flies out, and he's done the mods and is heading back to the quarter mile soon... I'll keep you posted on the time improvement, which I reckon is gunna be humungus!

Hey Dubious, you up in Calgary right? Dude it was like 61 F here just this afternoon, great riding weather but there's gravel everywhere (what they put down for snowy days here in Great Falls MT). I'm careful though so I ride and I even took off from work early just to do so.

OK so the 'Flies' thing. Man this bike is so great with them removed. I put on my PC3 last month and I already had the 2 bros CF slip ons. It's like a whole new bike really, better than anything I've even owned in the past. I couldn't imagine having a 16T on the front though I've thought about it. This thing wants to throw me right from 2.5K, 1st gear when pulled on enough. I think it's great! In stock form I didn't get the front up but didn't try hard at it either. Now with flies out, hell I just give it a good sqeeze and up she goes...don't gotta blip/chop the throttle, adjust weight or anything; it's the best. Also like others have said, the power is soo smoth and you get used to the difference rather quickly also, so there's really no danger. Pulls harder than before, from any gear period. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, don't matter....just plenty of power.

Phil

rookie here, flies? I've read about these before but don't understand exactly. And since I dumped mine recently and have to put it back together plus I'm adding the pc3 at the same time. Already have a TiForce. Would this be a good time to do this "fly thing". I have been told what this entails before but was not sober and so I have no clue. If anyone out there has the patience to explain I would greatly appreciate it.

Search a little and you'll find more info than you could ever want on pulling the flies.

IMO they don't make the bike run the 1/4 mi faster but they do make it a lot easier to get good times. It's a pretty measy mod and , ya, while you're doing your other mods would be a good time to pull the flies, since you'll have to remove all the bodywork in each case.
