lots of good info doesn't equal AFR info. The only thing I saw with any mention about AFR was a pic of a dyno run , with the AFR around 13.2 in part 2. But on the first diary about running at maxton , he said that he added fuel to go faster ......
Still looking for any useful info ...

I did find another picture of a data logger trace from a run at maxton with an afr of 12.56 , so that may be helpful. And knowing that he added fuel gives some reason to believe that it can be lower.
when you compare that to his dyno runs for max HP with the AFR being in the 13.2 range ....not sure if that is due to different fuels , or a richer setup running better at the track.

High 12's to low 13's make the most torque

I have a Brocked out bike with the MAXTON map and on the dyno, my AFR was 12.96 on the top side. I was told by the dyno shop that it was a tad on the rich side too but I never let them view or touch the map since it is Brock's.

Roy - And I leaned mine out to go faster at Maxton...... to his original map - By the way - I am not conviced that there was a statistically significant poerformance boost from Brock's richer map - it was after all within 1MPH of the previous six passes - and I am not sure that the leaning that I did made the difference (I started richer) as riding stryle and tighter tucking was also in play. I am installing an Innovate set-up for data acquisition that I will watch this year in preparation for Bonneville. So what exactly are you trying to accomplish - optimized dyno numbers - or optimal short acceleration such as a drag race or 1 mile acceleration as at Maxton or sustained WOT such as Bonneville? Each would have a slightly differant result I would think - or is this a less tangible desire to have a theoretically optimized tune......

trying to set up for maxton.
I have a wideband on there now, but havent been to a 1/4 mile track to get real ET/MPH numbers. I am just trying to get a good baseline map on the and do what ever testing i can now.

Roy - Are you planning on coming down to the March event - I am planning on being there. What is your set up - exhaust, current map, etc - I was using Brock Street Meg with street map - started rich and then back to his baseline - he was using his race map and richened it in the end.... My target would be 12.8. but I will be playin with it this year. Brock's maps tend to be spot on though.

might as well throw in some ceramic wheel bearings.... slide the forks up a tad....change front sprocket to an 18 and speedo healer. And if you really want a record - see carpenter kits in discussed in recent threads

The custom map I have says it should have 13:1 at sea level, but I'm at a higher altitude so I'd say I'm a little bit richer.

head porting is on the list, I just dont think I have time to do that . I am not convinced that the stock springs are not controlling the valves upto redline.
