New bike finally! Also, exhaust dilemma.

Finally got my 14 last weekend. Got a sweet deal on an 06 with 1200 miles.
Only ridden about 50 miles so far, but I love this bike. The refinements over
my 01 12r are amazing. More power and sooo smooooth!

The bike had D&D slipons when I picked it up. These are the first D&D's I have
heard that sound good. Every bike I ever heard with them sounded like shit.
They have a really deep, mellow tone, and are not loud. Huge improvement over
all the other D?&D's I have heard.

I almost wish it would have had stock exhaust. I had a Hindle on my 12r, and
was planning to put Brock's gen3 on the 14, but now that I have heard the D&D,
I don't want to lose that deep tone. Everyone comments on my "big block" sound.
I would like to have the power of the gen3, buuuuutttt?
What to do? What to do?

Congrats on the bike.
As far as what to do, go with your gut feeling.

I love my S-Meg... Brock helped me alot with setup of maps and choice of pipe.
You can see my bike in Smackhouse.. Sunny Arizona thread.
The pipe and Pc3 combo really added power, which at 300lbs I need all I can get

I got the dual D&D's on my 07 14. I love them too. Get someone else to ride it so you can hear it going down the road. They sound real good!

I don't really care for the look of the megs. I like the gen3, but I
feel like there's no way it will be as deep sounding as twin cans.
I guess I just have to decide between power and sound.

X, if you are not a speed demon or a 1/4 mile racer stick with what you have since you enjoy the sound so much. You could always use the money you would have spent on the new exhaust for other mods. Then later if you get bored with the mighty 14 make the switch for a more powerful exhaust. Maybe by then some manufacturer would have developed a full system with duals.

If your priority is performance go with Brock.... ok so for bling duals and such go elsewhere

I don't think I would try anything other than Brock.
I like his gen3 and I know it makes good power.
I really don't care for the dual can look much either,
but I love how it sounds.

How hard is it going to be to get rid of the decel pop
with the D&D's? Right around 3700 rpm's. Impossible?

If you used a device that would trick the ECU into believing the bike was in neutral, it wouldn't schedule a fuel shut-off on deceleration. I have no idea if the ignition map is different for neutral.

Mind if I ask how much you paid for the bike? Dealer? Private owner? Color?

I like the decel PoP, It sounds like a F1 or Indy car when shifting.
I also imagine it has scared a cell phone talker or two into dropping a latté mocha double shot in their lap
