IT WAS NOT A kAWASAKI ZX14 THAT BROKE AT THE STEERING HEAD

IT WAS A SUZUKI HAYABUSA WITH LESS THAN 1,000 MILES ON THE CLOCK

I am going to post this in a Separate thread also. Since I too was hard pressed to understand how this could happen, I called another friend that knew this person and got the real Story.

It seems like the the guy that had this problem was a long standing Kawasaki Owner. His last bike was a ZX12R and he said he was getting a New ZX14. So when Steve (My friend) heard that his bike broke when landing a small wheelie added 2 & 2 which in this case was not 4 teen.

FOr some reason the guy switched and bought a Brand New SUZUKI Hayabusa in December and with less than 1,000 miles on the Bike coming down from a small wheelie the frame broke right at the Steering head.

"IT WAS NOT A KAWASAKI ZX14 THAT BROKE AT THE STEERING HEAD it was a SUZIKI Hayabusa

I did not know which was the best thing to do in this case. Wait until I saw the Bike which may have put someone at risk or put a warning up about what I had heard and then get to the bike for the details! I know the thought of this sure scarred me and knowing that I would want to know to be on the cautious side until I knew more I posted this. Of course knowing that a lot of people think I am against the 14 did not help either! So I posted this on the 12 side to give me time to trach this all down. I have known Steve Foster for about 25 years and is a person that owned his own shop and is close to 50 years old and takes life seriously. At first I wanted to Kill him but I may have made the same mistake myself. So my apology for leaning on being sooner rather than later. AGAIN< IT WAS NOT A ZX14

i STILL PLAN TO GET THE PICTURES TO POST

Since it was on both I apologize on both!!

You may want to pull down one of them! I feel like cold Do do about now because of this!

This guy has never made a statement to me that did not bear out. Even when he told me that there was a swimming pool worth of water in the parking area of the building I am in when it was under construction and I work here and knew nothing. I found out that there indeed was 4 feet of water and they were sealing the leaks. I took this very seriously which is why I stated it was a warning and I needed more facts and then what I heard.

All I can say is I was I did not stop until I did find out exactly what happened and posted it as soon as I got it both ways and apologize to everyone. I even tried to make the RIGHT larger than the Wrong. If anyone heard that a 12 frame broke under light circumstances I still think I would want to know but I would also want them to keep going until everything was known! You also should know that I wish it had never happened because I knew that if I missed the mark even by a little I was going to pay Hell0 for it. Personally if I had waited and someone had hurt themselves I would not have been able to live with that and "THAT" was the FINAL deciding factor as to why I posted before I saw the bike.

I still plan to see if I can get a picture of the Bike because this is a first for me for any bike!

Well I am wrong too Vincent. Here is a ZX-14 frame for sale on eBay and it is broken at the steering head. Must have been a big hit.

Thanks Larry, but it is too late to save me! Still this is the First one I have seen and the good news is it was not the Bike in question and who knows what the rest of the Bike looked like. It could have been hit by a train for all we know? If I get the Pics I will post them to close my part of the deal

Busa steering head. I bought as a wreck with the head broken completely off. Raked 5 degrees when welded back on. Must be on straight held Maxton track record at 235 (2002 with turbo)

That ZX-14 frame at the steering head is NOT broke from an accident. The was PURPOSELY taken apart. I use to do aircraft accident investigation and THAT IS A BLATANT and purposeful break - and obviously from an accident (or what I know call trauma).

OMG, I can't believe that someone would even make such a post without having TOTAL PROOF instead of making their credibility look like shit time and time again.

The 14 is king of the road right now and it seems that if anyone can find a hole to poke and make bigger, they try even if it means to make shit up

Ita amaizing how sensitive some zx14 owners are.
It reminds me of 12r owners in 2000.

Always fealing like they have to defend it and thier decision to buy the bike.
I wonder why?

Dont be worried about what other people think about the zx14. You like it thats all that matters.

ZX12 owners were pissed because the Kawi promised to deliver and the ZX12 lost to the 'busa both on the track and on the sales floor.

Quotes:
"Kinda like how the 12 is faster than the 14??"

"If they only put the right color on the 14... well, it would certainly help the asthetic appeal of the bike, lol. "

bullshit. i have raced over 15 busa's set up like mine on the street and strip and have beat everyone of them. i have been at gateway drag strip and seen 2 friends with stock bikes race for 100 bucks and the 12 won. and one of our kawi and susuki dealers took out on two different occasions stock 12r's and busa's and did 1st gear roll ons up to 5th gear and the 12 won each time.the year was 2000
