flies out for street use or install stacks?
I've noticed that a lot of the fellows are taking the flies out,is that and good thing for street use with sometimes going to the track or is it better to just buy the stacks...I know with the stacks you should improve the mid-range....I need the mid-range weigh over 250....

I was worried about the flys out on the street too, but I did it and it's very smooth. You will need more throttle control in the curves though. A tiny little twist on the throttle and it will accelerate, unlike it is with the flys in. I won't be putting mine back in

thanks for the info bullet76...was it a big deal getting the flies out? It seems like I can save money by just taking the flies out. instead of buying the stacks.... that will free-up some money for the pipe...by the way what pipe did you choose for your bike?

Once you have your tank loose and access plates off, it won't take no more than ten minutes. Just be careful and don't drop the screws. Use a good magnetic #2 phillips screwdriver. I bought a brand new one just for removing the flys. Some people say they had a hard time getting them loose, but I had no trouble with mine. Once you have the screwdriver in place, give it a small tap it with hammer. Should help break loose the locktight. The pipes I have are just D&D slip-ons. I just wanted something for sound because I can't stand a quiet bike and the D&D was the cheapest. Oh yeah, when you ride it for the first time with them out, be careful! It will have alot more on the lowend. I had a big grin after my first ride

I still have mine in at the moment, but am planning to pull them this weekend.
Doubt if I will be able to get out and give it a test though, as the weather forecast is shite

I pulled the secondary throttle plates today and installed the pc with Brock's map. Total different bike, I promise. Day and night difference. I hope I made it clear. Do it it's still smooth.

Just a tip, we removed the fies out of 2 14s. the first one, the bike had been sitting for about 2 days. The screw were hell to come out! On mine, we rode for about 15 minutes to wam it up. the screws came out with no problem! Guess the heat from the brief ride helped. Just a suggestion. Heat her up!

Tapping the screwdriver into the head of the screw just a bit with a hammer helped tremendously for me. Amazing difference, no regrets at all, acceleration is still VERY smooth and predictable with flies out. Flies are just training wheels for noobies that don't know what a 190hp bike can do.
