Paint codes..
Looking to paint my catalyst seat and lowers to match. Where do i get paint codes for the candy thunder blue? Never had to do this before, always painted my bikes a aftermarket color.

I went to a paint stor one time and they told me they couldn't mix paint for a bike by using the code. They would have to use a scanner of some kind to match it. I was looking for paint to use on a seat cowl. I looked online and found a website that carries paint for bikes, but I don't know if they have it for a zx14. You can check and see. Here's a link: colorrite.com

I have matched it for a freind last week. I can give you a formula that can be mixed by any automotive PPG paint supplier. I have the formula at home I will post a pint formula tonight when I get home. I would not recomend colorrite because I have had bad luck with them in the past. They use US paint, whitch is a lower quality product then most automotive lines like PPG, Dupont, Sikkens, ect. I work for PPG as a technical adviser and training instructer. Hope this helps.

I use colorrite.com for my matching of paints. I painted a swingarm on my ZX9 two years ago and colors matched perfectly.
I just ordered the Passion Red last week, should be here tomorrow.
I need to paint my catalyst seat also.
Btw, Its pricey for paint.

Well, thats the main reason for my negative opinion on colorrite. They are higher in price then house of color, and there produst is lower in quality then Nason or u-tech. They also have horrible customer service and support. Color matching is not that big of a deal, it can be done by any GOOD automotive paint supplier or painter. When the colors get tough there tru colors shine through. There version of the candy lime green sucks total ass. When confronted about it they would not give any discounts or refunds and questioned my ability. After faxing most certification certificates (I-car platinum, ASE master, PPG master, sikkens level 3, ect.) to them they did not have much to say other then they could not garuntee a perfect color match that all there products are blendable matches only.
