Imo that bike took a hard hit to break the frame like that, Im sure it was not a low speed tip over, where are the pictures of the bike after it was wrecked?

zx14 was in our local news today with a mount with a gizmo on steering bolt.... keye 42 tech stuff... but i couldn't find what was on tv on there web site... sure like to know what that gizmo was....

Hub banged it good.... BUT what this is about was some track junkie buddies of mine say 3 zx14 had wreak on the road track at msr ..... And all 3 had a broke frame after the crash

I would have to disagree with that, I've seen 2 wrecked 14s and neither one had frame damage.

Hear me clear on this 1bad I NEVER called you a liar!!!! Here read my post >>>>>I have a wrecked zx14 in my shop and the frame is cracked about 3 inches long by the air box .....It was one hell of a high speed crash....OH 1bad just so you know that zx14 cracked frame is setting right next to a 06 Gixxer frame that is also cracked..When you wreck bad things happen and the brand of bike makes no difference...
Better get it right 1bad..........

no biggie... but how bout pics or more info on the cracked bikes...what speeds the knock.... compare the crashes

Cracks happen, and it is possibly an engineering design - purposely done, not a design error. Think about how cars are designed such that the engine falls out, the front collpases predictably, etc..... And, if you walk away from a motorcycle "CRASH" that was a good crash. Just like flying a plane, the wreck you walk away from was a good landing!!! And, I have ejected once in my life and now live to tell about it.

But are they designing them...Were one day a 40mph lowside destroys a $12k bike

I remember user, FasterThanStink, spoke of wrecking his motorcycle pretty well last year. Yet I dont remember him mentioning anything of a cracked, broken frame.

I was told if the motorcycle frame is bent or has a deep nick the insurance companys consider them totaled anyway.

I think that crash you are refering to had pics. You'd have to go back for days but I thnk it is the person that had Jay leno has my blue zx14 as his signature.
