quote: The dealership I bought mine from told me that if my engine blew my warranty would cover it. It might have been a sales pitch to get me to buy the extended 4 year insurance, but I thought since this is a new engine design, I better take precautions.
i bought the ext warranty because this bike is in its first year of production - i am wondering if my warranty was voided in any way by removing the flies...

You can always put them back in. Anyways I don't see how it would effect the warranty. They open at a certain rpm anyway. I think they're just there to keep the bike tame in the lower rpms.

I just got off the phone with Kawasaki and explained to them my concern with keeping the bike once I get it back.. Kawasaki said that they will extend my warranty for additional 6 months from the time I get the bike back.. And at that point I could purchase a extended warranty at that time.. Makes me feel a little better.. I usually tell it how I see it. And not try to bost about a product just because I bought it.
If they weren't going to cover the bike under warranty I would proably be on here raising hell and then pay some high school kid to talk smack about Kawasaki all over the internet so in the long run it would cost them more money than it would be to fix it.. But don't have to.. I will give Kawasaki thumbs up for making it right!

from your orig post
you did not state how many miles.......?????
no less im thinkin crate engine
if they put it back together for you
under warranty
it should be as Good A NEW !!!!!!!!!
rings are a no brainer
head shouldnt be a question or problem
cases .......crank etc
is where you could have future problems
really depends on how good.....the mechanic is
me im still thinkin Crate motor !!!!
& for the record im not sure i would post anything
that could be used against their decision to back warranty
thats why they were checkin for rubber under the fender etc
good luck

man I thought I was the only one!!!!!!!!! my 14 had less than 400 miles and began to smoke at 10grand. Okay call me a squid on my 14, but I have a superchaged 10 and a big outlaw motor 10 under construction. Hell, I raced my zx9 like Bob Glitten until i had to just let go. Cruzing at 140 I looked back for blue lights and saw blue smoke.I carved grooves in the cyclinder appearently. But heck Brock did it why cant I? They're goin to fix it under warranty, but I'm down for a month, you know you get put to the back of the line for warranty work!

That's why I followed the recommened break-in as close as I could. I know there's alot of opinions about that, but I thought since this is my first "new" bike, I would follow the owners manual.

Yeah, like those people who put big turbos on cars with stock cranks and get like 800+ hp's. I think the supra's are like that. Very strong engines.

hey man no hi-jacker here,I just couldn't believe this happened to someone else. I've got a 06 636 lowered and 9 over that i purchased for my wife that I make passes all day and run 11s it only has 223 miles on it. I'm really dissapointed because this bike was hyped to be KING OF THE MOUNTAIN and it let me down. I was kicking plenty of busaass in Gainesville on test and tune night on my zx10 with just a fifty shot. If this is high-jacking my bad I'll just say "I feel your pain man",but my little kavs are harder than my big kaw!

As much as I enjoy this site, there does seem to be a habit of a few members to fuck threads up. The sad part is that I have a lot of respect for a few of the people that can't seem to keep their mouth shut. Weird, it kinda reminds me of a couple hayabusa forums that I used to frequent.
for instance...
Once smokin' called ' bullshit'.....the thread took a terminal path. Yep, here is your list of hijackers: Smokin', steve, brent, FBA, 14BLACK, & fba.
If you don't have anything to ADD to a thread other than your malignant attiude or flame, then just don't reply. Its that easy.
