I am happy with my soft luggage; and I use it quite often going back and forth to work. I am in the military so I just put my uniform, boots and PT gear in them. I dont really carry anything really heavy. Also I run my straps under my seat and use bungie cords to help secure the bags.

At $150, I'll stick with my soft, easy to use, no brackets *ever*, soft luggage.

B True,
Good looking bike. I also have a red one. I was thinking of the red screen but wanted to remain pretty much stock for Bonneville at least until the end of Sep. I always wanted to go to Hunter Field to chopper school but never made. Instead I jumped out of planes with the 82d. My base pay was $852 a month as a 2nd Lt. With jump pay I got a little over $900. Hope they pay you more than that now. And thanks for serving our country.

...damn...when were you at fort bragg?...I'm guessing by your measely pay that you were stationed there waaay back in the day...back in my day c.1975 when I was stationed at no-hope-pope next the the 82nd, I my base-pay was maybe $500 a month as non-comm?....dammit! we need to pay our military personnel more than that for all they sacrifice and do ...still managed to buy a new Z-1B and send money home to the folks, though...ok, hi-jack over

I was at Bragg from '71-'73. Was a member of the 82nd Parachute team. Would hang out at the Airborne Annex--- drink beer and try and pick up the women. Rode my Honda 250 around the Artillery Range. Played golf at Pinehurst. Would sit on the tarmac at Pope for hours with a parachute on my back then board a C-141, fly up to Alaska, turn around, fly back to Bragg and then jump into one of the drop zones only two miles from where we took off. Aww... those were the days. Single, a lot of responsibily, no money but a boat load of fun. I haven't been back since but would love to see the place again.

Many of the people I work with do NOT understand why I ride bikes, except for one other guy why races his Porsche at the race track.. He's afraid to race me, although I haven't raced my bike yet. I figure I had my fun with speeds at 800+ knots 50 feet off the deck. I just like the ZX-14 as it is fun, responsive and fits my 6' 2" body perfectly! I have 21+ years in the military, I only wish that I could still fly, but sometimes I pretend to fly when I'm teaching my residents laparoscopic surgery!!! - I told one of my residents during laparoscopic surgery: "It's just like flying", and I got the response back: "Like I do that everyday"!.
