buying car or bike is not an investment, they do depreciate regardless of first year or second year or third year etc... so if i wanted not to waste any money, i won't buy any bikes and buy a 2000 dollar car for transportation because i sure don't keep them for 20 years.

Valid point, but wouldn't you enjoy something else for all the money it costs to swap bikes? Like getting a 2nd, different type of bike, or one hell of a night at a strip club, heh.

yah... but by then you have to buy set of new tires twice, chain etc... plus no mre warranty so if something goes wrong with bike, it won't be chip to fix .
ofcourse it is cheaper to keep the bike for a while but is a good feeling to have new bike with new color.

I keep all my bikes, they are just around the country and when I travel, I have a bike to ride. And, you know, I still have a soft heart for my first new bike I ever bought, the 750 Ninja - love that bike - and it has close to 75000 miles on it - REALLY!

Hey Shawnski don't feel bad, if I had half the money I have pissed away on bikes over the past few years I could have paid cash for the 14. I look at it like this, call it entertainment or what ever you want, as long as you are happy with what you have. Otherwise, you beat youself up mentally trying to figure out how to get where you want to be. You cant put a value on happiness and piece of mind. I know it sounds cliche' but it helps me sleep better. Besides it give you a new project. My wife is convinced I like working on them more than riding them because about the time I get one done I sell it. All my buyers seem to be happy to take it and run. Just to give you and example, the 04 zx10 I sold to buy the 14 cost me 16k to build, I sold it for 11,500. And to be honest I am so happy with the 14 Iam glad I did it!

I love my 14 just as much as I do the 1976 KZ900 that I rode 30yrs ago in high school. I hope it lasts as long, I bought 6 yrs+the 1yr they give you. I have redone the 900 4 times since purchase, each time badder than before. I am also sure that I will get the next BADASS KAWI that they make. At one time or another I have had them all several 900/1000's, 900 ninja,ZX10,3 different ZX11's no ZX12 I waited for the 14. I also do not give a damn what Suzuki does because in the end Kawasaki is always King.

(cough)Kawi has never stayed on top for too long(cough)

I'm enjoying my ZX14 until Suzook comes to market in '08. Yes, I'm betting on them. And if they let me down a fresh new 10-9-8 will be awaiting anyway

Shawnski, that's pretty cool that you sold your bike in order to ge the new '07 14. I know my opinion doesn't mean much, but i think it would be cool to do that, but when i have a bike i love it lol my g/f that i had before i came to iraq would always get jealous because i spent so much time and money into it and street racing, but we all have our own things that make us happy, so live it up while you can man.

My take, good for you, different strokes is good. Myself, I dont have my 06 Blue where I want it yet. I also tend to keep my stuff for years, and add to the collection. As far as the brown wheels go, I have already got chrome, and there is a set of 07 silvers on eBay cheap. It does make a difference if you do all your own work, or rely on the dealer. Warranty doesnt mean much to me after the first 2500 miles. Right now you can put all new body panels on your bike for about 1500 bux. I just bought a full set that included headlights, tank, and all the rest in blue. They are stripping the motors from new crate bikes for the T Rex and its ilk, and selling the rest at great prices. You can change to whatever factory color that floats your boat. The 07 is basically the same as the 06, so there is no advantage to me to swap. Now I might consider the new Concord as a stablemate, not a replacement. Other than that I dont see a new bike in my future for the next few. The money I save might find its way into a turbo for the 14 though......TB
