My 14 slowly getting to the way I want it....

Later on in the year, I will look into a turbo kit, aftermarket swingarm and a new motor to handle more than 5 psi of boost easily.

What are you guys doing?

Rick I gotta agree thats a badddddd looking 14 and clean. Good job with it Brent.

As for mine probably a PC3, some powdercoating, painting the catalyst seat, and an airshifter. Aside from that nada thing, gonna run it till I get in the 50's then I'll let it breath.

Cheers

I haven't ran the bike yet but it is pretty much identical to smokinzx14 and has all the Brock parts so it is possible with a rider like smokin' that low 9's to high 8's is possible with all the right conditions too. I will be going this spring though.

The grills I bought new from zx14.net and to be honest I couldn't remember the price but it wasn't over $250 or so. Rick you got any shots of your bike and what mods so far?

Thanks man. It is just like all the other 14's just with the painted grills and chrome wheels. I also have the smoked turn signals front/rear from clear alternatives. I cut my stock seat out to the way I wanted it and then had a company recover it. I cut and re-welded my kick-stand too as well as made my own tag plate.

I did exactly what Brock did. 1.25" up front and I have Muzzy lowering links for the rear in the 3rd hole. That's it.

I thank you guys for the bike compliments but I have seen some nasty 14's out there and that is what made me get off my butt and get one and start modding. I really like this bike and man is it fast. My friend has a Brocked out Gixxer 1000 and is thinking about selling it to get a 14 because he can't catch me in the straights at all. I mean, it aint nothing to brag about since I've got 352 more cc's but you get the idea that I'm talking about.

Smokin' listed his mods as 16/41 but with pretty much everything else the same as mine even the PCIII Map.

Heck cut your own seat out like I did. I just took out all the staples and drew out the imaginary lines of where I wanted it cut out and that is what I did, glued it back in, had a upholstery company to recover the seat since the stock cover isn't long enuff after you cut the material out of it. Good luck with that as it is a little tedious.

I'd love to do my 14 the way you and smoke did yours, but I don't drag race and I do spend a most of my time in the mountains on it, so doing that would just kill handling, but I have to say that your 14 is one seriously hot looking beast.

Looks awsome!!!!!!!!!!! Not into the drag thing yet but that will work. When you had your wheels off why did you not paint the fork bottoms black? The grilles are just paint right? I have done a few like that for some guys locally. Cant decide if the carbon or the paint looks better to me. Never the less great job. I will end up getting one when the price comes down like the 12's did. Then I can start drag racing and keep the 12 for the mountains.

That's a very clean and well thought out 14. I'm not much in to draggin, but If I were I'd want a set up like this. Not overly done; just right.

For mountian riders, lowering the bike wouldn't hurt your twisties and all would it. I know stretching would slow you down and I've seen some 14's lowered but not stretched that looked very good to me. I just wanted that stretch look as well as the performance with it at the strip.

I didn't have the fork bottoms painted because I was at work when a friend came to my house to pick up the bike and drop it off. I didn't think of it until it was too late. I'll get that done this winter though. Yes the grill are just regular paint with a heavy clear coat on them. I am not so sure that the prices will come down anytime soon on the 14's, well at least around here they aren't.

Thanks again fellas. It makes it worth trying to have a clean lined bike when you guys give the thumbs up. I'm not adding too much of anything else cosmetically so that I don't screw up the body lines as it is.

Lowering the bike isn't what gives it that wild look, unfortunately. That stretch is what it needs and that's the part about turns that doesn't work well. It's not even so much about the speed loss as the unpredictable handing that would bug me. Maybe I need to buy 2, one to stretch and ride around town an d the other to leave alone and ride the mountains with...

Personally, I don't think it needs anything more than what you've already done...it looks awesome just the way it is...more than that would just be bling.

Oh definately no more chrome or bling. It would start to look too ghetto.........LOL.

So do you think just lowering the bike without stretching wouldn't be all you need but with everything else like mine?

If you lived here in Maryland, I'd let you take it out to see how it would handle to help make up your mind. I am going to do a turbo kit though AND rebuild the engine. You've got a really nice stable there.

Let me know if I can help with anything.
