'06 and 07's at my local dealer
seems to me that my local dealer has about eight '06 zx14's and 0ne '07 white. He asked me yesterday what the lowest price that I've seen on the internet. I've seen $9,999. He said he will sell any '06 for that price. The white 14 ($11,899) has black rims, black formans and white lowers. It looks sharp minus the nasty flames.
Just curious what the lowest price you guys have seen on new '06 models.

A picture of that would be cool. I thought the only white ZX-14 was that "bling" version too...

Solid white with silver wheels would look nice (ditch the flames though).

I'll get you guys a pic the next time I go down there. It does look MUCH better without the red. I still think they are asking too much for it though.

BTW, the dealership is the one that painted the rims and foreman grills...it had the red crap before they 'adjusted' its poor unsightliness.

It's a shame the 14 once again is not selling worth a shit compared to the Busa, I don't care how good of a job kawasaki does they can't catch a break. The 12 sold so poorly in my area the shop I work at had to stop ordering one in or it just sat there and now we are not ordering any 07 14's because he can't sell the 2 06's he has left. I bought the only one he has sold. I could really see if the sale numbers don't pick up after the 08 busa is out, kawasaki could just shit can the whole big bore bike thing and be done with it.

When I went to look at a 14, they tried to sell me an 06 for $10999 but it was red. I wanted black. They were supposed to get me an 06, but they found an 07 in black. I was tickled, definitely worth the extra $500 for the color I wanted.

i agree it is a shame and i don't understand why. great bike great reviews etc...
i guess if you compare it to japanese cars, honda and toyota always on top and then you have mitsubishi with not very good reputation.
friend of mine she is japanese and she said folks in japan will not buy mitsubishi out there either.

Like I said on another forum...the Busa has developed a cult-like following. The 14 is clearly better on a number of issues, but still doesn't sell like the current Busa does, its really amazing to see that. But...look at Harleys...we ALL know they are JUNK, but they still sell like crazy!! If it weren't for the cult following of the name, people would clearly buy the other cruisers on the market which are far superior in a lot of ways.

Went to get an oil filter today and my salesman saw me and startted on me to trade the 12 on remaining red 14.Said he would go 9900.00 which was good but i tol;d him i had passed the point of no return on my 02 12 with 47000 miles.Still in perfect shape and runs as good,[actually better], as the day i bought it..Given the 12's sorry sales history, they couldnt come close to what i would have to have to get rid of it.Without a doubt the best bike ive ever owned.Im sure the 14 would be equally as good a bike but for over a year ive been trying to fall for that bike and it just hasnt happened.Maybe the slow sales will push Kawasaki to produce the bike most wanted to begin with,A bike that looks like the 12 and runs like the 14..Plus, they might want to think about giving it a catchy name.12 and 14 just dont roll of the lips like Boosa when you talking smack with the homies

More good reading................
You would think there would be NO 06's anywhere.........................only 07's.
The ZX10R has to be Kawasaki's best seller in recent history as far as big bikes go.............

Wait till the aftermarket gets more parts for it. I'm sure people will come around then. I love the look of the 14, but I have to agree the busa looks good too. The thing that kept me from getting a busa was that everybody has one!!! I get alot of looks and complements when I'm out on my black beauty!

Even after the aftermarket comes around it won't matter, the new Busa could be a piece of shit with wheels and will out sell the 14, just the way it is. to bad I love my 14, way better all the way around then compared with the two Busa's I've had

And I bought the 14 because Suzuki put a 'busa in every garage and corner of ASmerica sales was so good. When they make a new bigger and badder 'busa my 14 is gone.
It might be gone sooner because the R1 and 1098 are looking oh so sweet, but I'm determined to keep this 14 for a total of 12 months anyway so I have time to think on it...

Ok hold up here ...You think Kawi didn't sell more bikes than Zooky ever?? Try this 69 to 74 H1 and H2 and the old Z1s ... so what you are saying is that Zook sold more of them fat asses slow 750 waterBuffalos and that crappy 500 twin two stroke smoking under powered turds?... Zooky didn't have a good street bike till the GS1000 and the GS1100...Untill then kawi, honda and yamaha was kicking that ass....

+1 yup it going to take years and Zook is going to have to slip up and make a real turd out of the new Busa....I just don't see that happening anytime soon....But it could just happen like that big flop they had with the rotary ...

As someone who wants a new 14, i find news of '06's leftover quite nice.
Thing is people your not seeing this for the positives it involves. I mean, do you really want to see the 14 sell as insanely much as the busa? The be "Harley Davidsoned" into chromed out show bikes time and time again with rear tires as wide as rosie o'donnell's rear? To have them lined up in droves at bike meets or to be seen every 2 miles when riding? Hell everyone who's watched discovery channel, epspecially cops, know what hayabusa's are. Which is Kinda nice to confuse them if you can find a pack of busa's while leaving tickets behind.
Thing is nobody knows what the zx-14 is. Headlights on low beam kinda resemble the R1's light pattern. Tail end could be confused with '04-05 zx-10's to untrained eyes. All this is especially fun when dusting busa's or literbikes or especially high hp cars that think they're benchmarking themselves racing squids on busa's they encounter on the highway. I think after people fine tune bolt on mods and maps this winter this bike will be making a name for itself on the road that will increase sales. I honestly don't see the new busa being much faster due to fear of government bs and insurance for sportbikes over 1400cc's would be.....sad. Either way it'll be fun hunting them on modded ZX-14's.
Look at it this way, if the 14 gets as popular as the busa, then that's more squids that'll be buying them, crashing them and raising your insurance rates. Owning a bike not too well known can be a very, very good thing.
