Why PC the fly out bike?
I pulled the flys yesterday. Not hard thanks to the boards feedback. I put the beast back togehter. Again not hard.
I then rode the beast. It pulled much harder and I saw no issues with the mapping. I hit it hard, very hard, but not for a long time. I rode up and down the road and a few twists but that was it.
Given the easy idle and power, why do I need the PC and Map. It seems it worked fine when I put the thing together.
I am using the stock pipes.
I have ordered from the guys in New York, very nice and helpful on the by and by, but do I need it?
Thanks.

Bike runs much too lean at 3500, A/F ratio's 17 to 1 Not good for pistons uless you want to see thru them :P

Ok I had not heard that, is it the pipe and fly combo that makes it run so lean ??

Mine is stock and it was faster than stink. I loved it.
I asked on the site and bought it to be safe. But no intent to remove the pipes.
How do you get the PC in that tight spot??

If there's any doubt about running too lean at lower rev's with flies out, take it to your nearest dyno' and get them to do a run with the gas probe in the exhaust. Shouldn't cost much and you can then make a decision about PC or no PC. A lot cheaper than a holed piston.

well do what you want, but my bike had a lean condition down low that was terrible for my approximate 900-1000ft above sea level elavation. We had to add 30% more fuel down low.
there was a terrible spike at around 3000k rpm? it's been awhile since I had it done
perhaps you should call a reputalbe shop and ask!!!
smitherscustons.com is where mine was done.

Damn countersteer, that is funny. I have the pc coming. I plan to run it. It just did not fell odd at all when I ran it.
I got the map that was done by the paint named company out of NY. Not expensive for the significantly faster bike.
I was just curious about it.
Still the notion of keeping it running to see what happens is funny.

I saw the map from Cycle paint and metal. It does have a richening in the lower range. Good job on their part. It does take some out at the higher levels.
I need to wait to get the bike loaded with the Map. Damn rain. 70 degree weather and wet. What a dragggg.

So even with a commander installed with premade map, it will still run lean with the flys out?

He doesn't know what he's talking about, just pull the flies and get a PC, you'll have an amazing transformation for $300.

sounds like a good probability that a slip on map would work
