It's a decal, right?
It would be pricey if it's real.

It's carbon fiber I would not buy if it was a decal . They are being sold for 75.00

Pretty cheap if it's real carbon fiber. Might look okay on a black bike but not sure about red or Blue.

I never got the deal with the black/carbon windscreens. I guess they are ok if you never plan to top the bike out...

.....like when it explosed into shards and stabs the rider in the neck........that could suck.....
I had my stock one painted CTB w/ the bike repaint.........inside and out :-)

One reason is to protect your instruments from the sun. I am not sure, but I think I already see some effect on the LCD display. I hope the sun does not wash it out over the next few years!

It's ok. You could always buy one from a wrecked bike. There will be more.
Those puig wind screens are a decal, not real carbon fiber. And you can't see through them. Looks cool, but not pratical.

What would we gain by blocking our windshield view? I'd be blind when ducked under. Then again I'm having a hard time grasping the luggage concept too.

No need to see through it at 200 b/c you can't react fast enough to miss anything and the bike won't turn at that speed anyway :-)

Huh? Not a hard concept to grasp, people do other things besides all out racing. I'd rather haul ass on my 14 with the capability of doing other things rather than having to set aside time to ride a bike that can't do anything except go fast. Being able to take trips and run errands on my 14 means more time in the saddle, and that's a very, very good thing. Plus it's fun to be able to blow the doors off a vet or newbie sport bike rider that thinks you're on a touring bike.

Don't know if that was a tounge in cheek remark but I'll give a serious answer.
I find that one eye on the tacho' and the other on the track ahead works just fine for top speed stuff. It might be hard to steer offline by very much but it did help me avoid some rabbits back in September. A couple of bunnies at 190+ can make quite a mess. On top speed runs I'm normally tucked in under the screen for over half a mile in 6th gear while speed builds, that's a long way to go without looking. Plus you have to watch out for the timing equipment which is also the start of the braking zone, at those speeds a few seconds wasted before shutting off and braking can be critical.

Just remembered I'd got this image from JD9 taken by Charlotte, hope she doesn't mind me posting it.
It shows me head down, left hand off the bar and tucked in, leaning slightly to the right into a cross-wind, trying to keep it straight, speed up around 200mph.
The point is I'm looking THROUGH the screen and I still need to get lower. (If I wasn't looking ahead the wind would have me off the side of the track). I'm considering a race seat and cut-away tank, in this game low coefficient of drag is everything. A carbon screen would not do.
