Our Socal ride up Palomar Mountain!

Another beautiful day on the Left coast of Southern California

So we , Socal ZX-14 rider ,His son, Me, MY dad and ,Flame on went for a ride to a road that has a bunch of twists and no outlet !
My kind of road !
And it all went off without a hitch so it was just a perfect day.
Here are the pics :

Ahh the 1-5 freeway.... my favorite lol!
Here we are From left to right but with me on the camera , Garrett (socal zx-14 rider) , Chuck (Flame on), Travis(son of socal zx14-rider), and my Dad (Al)

Hey Garrett , What's up Pops!!!

Look at that dude ahead on that small bike go!

Gas break...

Look at them pretty Red bikes! Oh nice blue one too.

And finally the twisties !
I was way ahead of my dad and Chuck and i saw an awesome spot to pull off and wait for them to come around.

Here's Chuck:

Here's my dad:

There goes Travis:

And heres Me!!!!

HaHa they saw me and doubled back so they could get a shot of me lol.

That was pretty fun , but me Chuck and my dad got terribly hungy at the same exact time so we headed for the one of the best all you can eat buffets in town at the Harrah's hotel & casino which happened to be right around the bend for us!
Man the food and the desserts were to die for and i am still hurting from it right this second... no meals for me for a while.... but it hurts so good !

Did i mention it was a perfect day?

Hey Garrett ! , that was an awesome ride man and it was great to ride with you again and i'm looking forward to the next time!

See ya soon!

Flame on , did you get any pics???

Not fair, I miss San Diego and those days when I lived there from 87-93. Now I'm in Virginia Beach - and there are no mountains here - I have to go to the western part of the state and then it gets better - but a boring drive for 2+ hours just to get there. But, thanks for the pictures guys, brings back some good memories.

Ya, I was scaping my lowers that day, wish I had a vid of that. I show you the scrapes next time.
Travis was behind me but had the camera zoomed at the ground in front of him so you cant see. He did get good shots of the black marks I left in the turns.
Now I know how the croation guy feels, scraped lowers and my boots scraped too.
Edges of tires ripped up.
Can only guess at what happens after the plactic scrapes! Maybe not good? lol
Those Pilot Powers rock!!
Never had a knee down cause I don't lean off bike or stick my knees out at all.
(Just a rookie here)
Who needs the knee out.
This bike can do anything, 1/4 mile, twisties, touring, you name it.
I'd like to see how a busa does in the twisties.

And to top it off, blew the doors off a pesky street racer dude who passed me fast on the 5 fwy during the ride home, chased him down, slowed to get next to him (eye contact), smiled and left him holding his dick. Humbling experience for him.
All in all a great day!
Be safe, ride responcibly! LoL

+1 on a full face helmet when your riding hard in the curves. I just had a friend get hit by Truck on her bicyle and she bit a chunk out of the road with her teeth and knocked 4 teeth out and is having all kinds of trouble with them now, nerves dying etc. It would suck to go down with an open face helmet. Excellent pictures by the way.

Hey i got a brand new one.... i just don't wear it enough well at least on these short day runs

Plus the 3/4 keeps my speed down which is a good thing from what i hear from the other riders, my full face i use on various long out of town trips.
But even then i still sometimes go with my 3/4

I wont be on the 14 for probably another month. I am getting the plastics painted and trying to squeeze in the turbo........and getting sugery on my clavicle tomorrow - which can slow it all a bit.

Not being able to use 14 should be no big deal + the Vmax should be more comfy for your injury anyways.
But i'll PM you friday and see if you are up for a ride on the weekend.

I am the silver bike

i thought it was a great ride all together. other than the fact you guys really just bailed on us when we got to the top of the mountain. hopefully the ride you guys took was nice. i prefer tearing up a road that i know well, the actual mountain. i got most of the road memorized. as far as where to go next im going to palomar again on saturday because its cl;ean and there are no turnouts and its technical. i love it. (im socal-ZX-14's son)
