6.00 @ 123.88 1/8 mile passes....

I had a good night at our local 1/8 mile track ...Temps in the hight 60s and humidity was still a little high at 71% ..... As most of you know i just installed a new set of OEM clutchs and i also changed my 003 ultra soft shinko back to the stock Battlax tire.....
I had two 6.00 @ 123 Mph passes ..I was looking for a 5.99 pass but it didn't happen but i'm betting with some drier air it will ... I can believe how fast this zx14 is with stock wheel base. .Everytime i go to the track the damn thing just gets faster and faster.. I got to race a SS/1000 bike tonight and lets just say he got a good look at the back end of a zx14 ... God i love this bike ....Smokin....

Good Job Smokin. As stated before you are flying. 5.9's are right there.
You have been real patient with trying to get the most out of that bike w/o
throwing everything at it. You were foot shifting for a while then tried brocks
pipe but still not the race map and MR9. Way to go. I want you to eventually
break into the 8sec zone stock wheelbase on motor.

Your patience has me considering just keeping the stock pipes on and foot shifting next year until Iget in the 50's or low 60's. Then i'll try something else maybe airshifter before
brocks stuff. (Pipe, map, Syn oil, fuel, etc..)

Thanks .........If it was me i would go with the Brocks pipe and his map asap ...That was the best bang for the buck in my book....Syn oil i would do right away ...I changed to syn oil at about 500 miles ..Smokin..

Wow smokin' that is riding man and always a good thing to go faster each time out. So changing to synthetics won't be a problem at 750 miles for me then? Good. I am going to use the Mobile 1 5W30 that Brock's recommends. Are you filling just to 3.5 quarts too? Which MAP are you using for Brock's stuff? I have about 8 different ones from him but when my bike dynoed on a land & sea dyno "SHOWING" 204 HP, that was with the high speed MAXTON map that took the Brock 14 to 200 MPH. I have No flies, Brock's SMEG, 16/43, basically no air filter and of course the PCIII USB.

Thanks man.

WOW!
____________
You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

What made you go back to the BT014? is it because the shinko was to heavy or hook up problems?

Both ... To heavy and didn't hook unless i let it down to 25 PSI ....The Battlax dead hooked and i can keep it at 36 psi ....Smokin..

This is direct from the Brock's website:

3. Oil: We use 3 1/2 quarts of 5W-30 Mobil 1 synthetic CAR oil (Gray bottle, blue cap @$4 a quart at Wal-Mart). We have used this oil for over 15 years. It does NOT create clutch slippage! It does allow the clutch to be slipped by the rider, without as much damage to the fibers and steels as organic oils. Alyson Pro Drive 21 <<0W (less than zero weight) and Motorex Top Speed are also fine hp freeing oils.

Please see the lubricants area in our store for the latest GO FAST oils: http://stores.skipjack.com/brockracing/Search.bok?category=Lubricants

DO NOT RUN low oil levels if you like to do wheelies! Serious engine damage may result. For the street and strip we do not have problems. Although, we usually run the oil level at the low mark in the window for mainly street use with an occasional run at the strip. ***Do not run less than 4 quarts of oil in race engines with the harmonic balancer removed or on bikes equipped with custom oil pans***

I wonder what I was doing wrong. I was breaking loose in second with the stock tire. Dammit I just ordered the damn shinko. Oh yeah I forgot about the shitty track. I wonder if anyone would let me trade the brand new shinko for another tire. Or just send it back. Thanks smokin. Always can count on you for a little education.
