Will a PCIII hold more than 1 map? This is my first Fuel Injected bike and this Power commander stuff is new to me.
I understand that different maps can serve different functions such as street map, and race map. As the topic states, does the PC3 hold more than one map at a time?
I understand that the 2007 GSR1K will have a handle bar function/switch that allows the rider to switch to atleast 3 other maps w/o plugging up a laptop. The maps have to be loaded of course but after that no more.
I would love to have that option of my bike even if it is under the seat, race map w/MR9, street map, and race map w/U4.
Thanks once again, (
Nelson

pc3 will only hold 1 map.
the new gsxr likely only will store the factory loaded maps, as eck's have in the past, except it has 3 maps instaed of 1.

DJ is suppose to be working on yet another add on box to allow the PCIII to hold more than one map.. BUT like everything from them it's on the slow boat from China

It suggest that the Map Selection Switch will allow the rider to switch to different map within the power commander. I guess they will coming out with a PC that holds more than one or either the additional maps are held in the multi function hub?
We need the feature of optional maps onboard. Come on Dynojet.

About the Map Selection Switch
Connecting the map selection switch allows the rider to switch "between two different maps within the Power Commander." For Touring Bikes this could be used to switch between a "fuel economy map" for long rides and a "full performance map."
For sport bikes it could be used for applications such as "dry nitrous oxide" kits to permit the user to make the fuel mixture richer when activating the system. Additionally, if the Power Commander has an ignition module connected it can switch to a less aggressive timing map at the same time.

I believe it works with your current PC3 by adding the hub, LCD display, and the switch.
Which looks like it will then work like a datalogger as well, great tool!

Multiple maps stored/accessed in a dynojet box would be extremely simple and cheap. Doesn't take a design engineer to figure out a simple switch and a dash of additional memory offers the solution. I've often wondered why dynojet forces folks to drag laptops around. But I guess they've been the only game in town, so like the Suzuki with the 'busa for so many years "why bother" ____________

Check with Muzzy. They had a fast map switching device awhile back that they were testing. Not sure what the progress is on it. The idea was, when you hit the NOS button, the device would instantly switch to another map, giving the bike the correct map for NOS.

Yoshimura has one already for the 14 with an OTF A/F monitor....field testing at the moment.
Take a wild guess who Suzuki worked with to develop Gixxer1K ECU?

Yosh has had this option for years now, just that it was on a limited bike selection race use mostly.

Reason I inquired, I'm wondering do I wait for this PC that holds more than one map or go ahead and get the PCIII? I plan on racing it and also being able to take 200-300 mile rides all on the same bike.
BTW what does JDM market mean?

You will still need the PCIII if you buy the LCD display and the Multi-Function Hub.
