Curious why you hang on to the 12...does someone else in the family ride it???

I just love my ZX-12R... I can't part from it. I'm geting the 2007 R1 to go with my two other bikes.

Nice...Why not an Akrapovic on the 14 to match the 12???

I didn't realize how dated the 12R looks until I saw it next to the 14.

...yah...I just noticed that, too...but to me the 12R is to the 14 much like the Z-1 is to the 12R...I think they're keepers (if at all possible)...

Very nice Stan, as one with 2 motorcycles I only wish I had bought a cooler motorcycle 5 years ago. Actually the ZZR1200 was in the running until I rode her. I loved almost everything about it except lack of FI and a transmission that was too much like my ZX-11 of 10 years before. Oh yea that 10,499 price tag did nothing for me either.

Stan...I'd say you like big bore bikes...
I've been trying to justify a reason to add a GTR1400 to the stable when I've got the 14...you may have inspired me now...

You guys are killing me....I've been talking myself out of an Aprilia and that R1 Raven is also calling my name. Speaking of Aprilia do any of you know where the Aprilia crowd posts? I don't see much thread activity on Bikeland regarding the pasta burners

I wanted a full Akra systen, but they did not make one for the 14 yet... I just could not wait other year for them... but the Yosh is a great pipe.... I'm happy with it........

nice set stan,i sold my 12 ,as a matter of almost identical to yours,to buy my red 14. I see someone has the same taste as me...lol I also painted my lowers and grilles red too(but no black lines on grilles),that is the first thing i did was paint them and put on a sidewinder ,and i love it,i wish i could have kept my 12 too....(greedy like that)

Two bikes is like the Coor Light twins. Twice as much fun. 
I find my A1 and R1 are the perfect combo for me. One for the shorter twisty trips, one for the long rides.
I'll part with my A1 when there is ice in hell and Paris Hilton becomes a Catholic nun reformed. 
Edit: Forgot to add, I agree - the red grills you have are a 100% improvement over the black on the red bike.

Those grills on your bike look great. I was wondering how they would look painted red. Hope you don't mind if I copy you.
I know what you're saying about the 12R. I could never sell my 2000 either. I like switching bikes once in a while, just to feel the difference. The 12 is an awesome bike, but so is the 14. For the last 2 months, I've been trying to get someone to ride my 12 so I could compare it with the 14 in a roll on race at about 65 mph in second. Still nobody. Bob, (Blitz) you ever get to ND, you can ride whichever bike you choose. Then we'll switch bikes and do it again. (Rider weight difference. I'm about 150 lbs.)

If I ever return from this corporate black hole 65 hour per week vortex I have been sucked into I'll take you up on that offer Larry.
Maybe I'll get up your and Jeffs way next summer and we can meet somewhere in the triangle.
I didn't get a good bike vacation this year and I'm doing at least two next year.
One zx-12 and one R1.
