Here in FL the weather is finally beginning to cool down enough to wear a helmet comfortably

In the UK winter isn't usually very cold. What we do have is lots of wet weather and the temperature is often low enough for a freeze. Most parts of the country treat the road surfaces with a salt mixture, it's very corrosive and I try to avoid riding on it because it just ruins a decent bike. Even when it dries the road surface is still slimy and lacks grip. Some guys keep an older bike for the winter, I use my car most of the time.
Winter projects for my 14 are mostly small improvements because I run it in Class 2 in my club which has very strict class rules. The class does not allow engine mod's or lengthened swing-arms, just airbox, exhaust and remapping mainly. I still have the flies to remove, which is allowed and I'm trying to source a decent high flow air filter, hopefully that will coax a few more BHP from the engine, currently 192.9 at the rear wheel. I was looking at the drag seats too because Aero's are worth looking at even on a bike as streamlined as the 14. It's going to be lot's of small improvements this winter which will hopefully add up to more than the sum of their parts.

The guys down at the Cornwall shop sent me this last winter, does snow sometimes.

Heated grips and a new warm and waterproof riding suit are on my wish list. The riding season doesn't end for me.

navigator, I would reccomend gerbings heated gloves over heated grips, I had heated grips and they do not do a good job of keeping your hands warm. the gloves keep the entire hand warm fingers, palm and backside. and you can use them on numouros bikes if you have extra cords. I also have the gerbins heated jacket liner and will never be without it.

There are maybe 2 or 3 days here in NYC when its impossible to ride...I ride the rest. Although Im still working on a full sized top box for my 14....I should get that worked out this winter.

This is how I spent my winter ride time last year. This year I'll do the same, with the exception that the ZX14 will replace the Yamaha.
