Rev limiter...
I got a weird question here guys....of all the time i had my bike i never had it on the speed limiter. With my gearing, the speedo says 180 going thru the traps and i know if i do anymore to the bike to make it faster, it will shut off going thru the traps...Which is no big deal but, I picked up a nitrous kit for the bike the other day. I dont want to be spraying the bike and have it shut off and still spraying nitrous into the bike. What happens when the limiter kicks in? Does it shut off? Does it drop RPM? What happens? I dont want a build up of nitrous in the cylinders if it drops alot of rpm's when the limiter kicks in.

I believe it cuts out alternating firing of injectors, but I could very well be wrong.

Get a speedo healer. That should help out. I see your point, and things could get ugly. Don't forget a window switch.

When you hit the rev limiter it just feels and sounds like the engine is misfiring and losing power. I think the true figure is 10800rpm but the tacho' will be reading nearer 11500, it tells lies just like the speedo. Like the man said, get a Speedo Healer to avoid the 6th gear speed limiter which will operate 1000rpm before the engine rev limiter. If you gear the bike right you should be looking for peak bhp at your target top speed, so you won't hit the limiter anyway, assuming you avoid it in the intermediate gears.
