You're welcome. BTW, the rod has to be shortened. Dremel worked great. Drilled and tapped the lever. It's real easy, the metal is soft. It's just held on by adhesive up top.

So what your saying is you did not drill the sprocket cover? You used adhesive? Please explain a little more. Thanks............

I haven't seen the button for this kit, but is there a way to install the button onto the bottom of the shift lever, so you wouldn't need the shaft/plunger setup? I guess the hard part would be if you had large feet or boots, it would hit the button at times you didn't mean to shift. Or mount the button on a bracket above the shift lever that would get hit as you pushed up on the shifter. I am just trying to think of different options that get rid of the "shock absorber" you have to install, but keep the foot as the trigger mechanism. Basically a more stealthy install...

I guess it could all be painted black to hide most of it. Not sure yet, but I know I really like the sound of this setup.

Team speed if you can get ahold of the software you could rewire the 9volt adapter to work as a shifter. Its just basically a 2 wire switch. You just need the software and know which two wires on the expansion port trigger the shifter...

Great idea, I just found the utility, and I also know which two wires feed the PC. Thank you very much!

Anybody got a 9v adapter they are not using, will pay $12 spriority hipped for it...

Queston for you guys that allready have the quick shifter ... What is the RPM set to out of the box? And is it set to 65 ms out of the box? Please don't tell me i have to take my P/C off and bring it up to my puter to make changes right now ...No i don't have a lap top and i'm not buying one anytime soon ..
On a side note i drilled the cover and installed the L bracket that came with the kit ..The glue on tab only lasted about 3 seconds before it let go...

I didn't drill mine, I just used the L shaped bracket from the kit, a spacer, the longest bolt from the kit and picked up the speed sensor bolt hole, works out great and I have 3 mounting holes to use to change the height without having to cut the shaft.

Can you please post a pic of yours for me if you get a chance. I would love to see how exactly you did it. Thank you.

Tony, I haven't done it yet. I haven't decided whether I want to hack the 9v adapter to make it a quickshifter interface. That is the first question I have to answer. Once I know what I will do there, I plan on just installing a button connected to the PC, after setting the RPM and delay times using the quick shifter utility. If that works, then the final step will be to see if I can create something better than a push/pull "shock absorber" switch on the shifter lever. $240 for a software utility that can talk to the PC that I spent $260 on in the first place, and a glorified switch seems way overkill to me.

Installed the quickshifter, having an issue with the bike cutting power & then giving power & then cutting power again. If I'm shifting in traffic below 4k rpm via the clutch, it starts cutting power more above 4k rpm. Where do u think I'm going wrong? As something is a miss here or that I've overlooked. I hv a 07 zzr1400.... Please advice guys... Hv my drags coming up soon

Try setting the activation above 7500 or so, u don't need it to work at low rpms, I actually think I only want. It to work when I'm wot, n set ur kill time to the lowest millisecond possible that u can go from 1rst to 2nd without hitting neutral, it'll go thru the rest of the gears easily after that interval is ok

Ahhh ok thanks so much for the tip mate. I think some issue must have happened during installation... I was really surprised that it started jerking as soon as I opened throttle as I believe that it does run on 4k rpm, though my main use is for the October drag :-) but I'm hopin to rectify it soon... Issue is that I don't know how?

I have one and love it. Just remember do not try and go WOT from 1-2, but 2+ is great.. Love it. My unit pictured took a shit and they sent me a different unit made of plastic, I was able to use the same mounting system just had to tweak it. Basically I got the bolt from Blows (Lowes), or Home Negro (Home Depot), and made my own spacer.

Why not wot from 1rst to 2nd? If ur kill time is set correctly there's no issues, u might want to change urs cayse the quick shifter works great n ne gear to gear, that's why I said to adjust kill time enough to go from 1-2, that will b plenty of kill for the remaining gears

Hmmm. Yeah that's possible as the bogging had happened after shifting frm 1st to 2nd and then became smooth from 3rd. Plus I've installed mine on the outer side of the gear lever & in the beginning of the lever, have noticed that everyone has it on the inner side if the lever & in the middle... U think that maybe causing the issue too?

I was having some issues with my quick shifter and called Dynojet, their tech told me not go 1-2 , I forgot what his logic was but he 100% told me it was a longer throw from 1-2 and not to use the quickshifter to do it. Frankly the quickshifter works great but there are a few quality issues on Dynojet's end, I am currently on my 3rd unit and had to fight with them and make a ton of calls to get them to warranty this last one. They offered me to give me a discount, $200 and I went crazy.... considering that this was my 3rd unit. I will be doing a major upgrade this winter and one of the things will be an MPS auto shifter "complete". I like the idea of having an onboard compressor and not having to deal with CO2, or paintball bottles.

I've had mine on my 12 for over 4 years n never had an issue, track days as well as riding hard on the street, I love it, maybe I just got a lucky batch lol, I hooked up a friends gsxr 1000 to shift automatically using his air shifter n the relay on the hub for a pc3, instead of wiring it to the horn its grounded through the relay, had to set it at 11400 to actually shift when his 12600 shift light, seems like the pc3 has a slight delay in reading actual rpms cause they climb really fast, also I set parameters to not arm relay til tps was above 60 n rpms were above 11400 so no accidental shifts while found his burnout, n if he spins out the Hoke she just hits rev limiter n shifts, I'm guessing wit nitrous I will have to move that 11400 to 11000 due to rpms increasing even faster, wit all this said all he has to do is launch out the hole, lock Throttle n hold on! Sorry to have jumped off subject,

They are both made by Dynojet, just different production dates. Dynojet bids these out and different vendors manufacture them. The latest one I have is completely different from pic I posted above.

Insane, glad you got it sorted out, what kill time are you using? Are you able to go from 1-2 without any missed shifts? Thinking about trying to increase my kill time and use it from 1-2, but really don’t want to kill my shift forks...

for street riding a little more kill is better to avoid problems on lazy shifts. and you won't notice.
racers want to go as low as they can and still shift.
Every bike and rider is different so you have to play with it, 80ms is a good start either way.
