New 1/4 mile ETs with Brocks power !!!!!

Let start off with the bike mods ..
Stock wheel base
Stock gears
Strapped and lowered
89 octane pump gas
28 psi in the rear tire
Brocks Street Meg , P/C with Brocks street map..
Flys in place..Air filter in place ..And foot shifting with the clutch.
60 foot 1.52
330 4.01
1/8 et & mph 6.09 @ 121
1/4 mile et & mph 9.32 @ 150.68

At stock wheel base and i Muzzy pipe with no P/C My BEST was 9.44@147 ..
Switching to Brocks set up gained me 3+ MPH and a tenth+ off my ET ....

The heat was killer and i have a sunburn to prove it ...Brocks set up has more in it but i'm having one hell of a time driving this bike with the new found HP...This zx14 has a new power band, right at 7000 rpm this thing goes wild....I was leaving the line at 4500 ( soft for me) and hit 7000 rpms and goes into a 12 Oclock wheely like it was a liter bike !!!!! In order to get a good run i had to back off the throttle to bring the front end the the ground...This was not a problem before the Brocks goodies.. This caused my 330 times to be slower but the bike pulled so hard on the top end it made up from my crappy riding skills ... One pass i had a 1.64 60 footer and still pulled of a 9.37@150.50 pass ....
This thing is now making killer hp, now i just need to learn how to use it...Remember also i'm foot shifting and using the clutch ..I think and air shifter will get me a tenth or more easy.. Thanks Brock for all your help ... Smokin......

Smokin, I knew you would not be dissapointed, now you know how at 216 in shorts with a 1.64 60ft I can go 9.48 at 150.29. do you have the track map for removing the Air filter? you won't believe how much more et you will gain. you would have been in the 9.20's for sure.

Yes i have the track map for no filter but i don't want to use it just yet ...Let me get the hang of this street map first and then go to the Race map and some of that tricky fuel.... Smokin ....

I'm slipping it a good bit and twisting the throttle it very slowly..I'm getting the throttle pinned very late ... I didn't have to do that with the Muzzy set up...With the older set up i could toss the clutch real fast and pin the throttle real quick ..It's just going to take some seat time to get the hang of this extra power ..But i will get it !!!!! You are going to get hooked on that MR9 fuel , it's like a drug .. I ran some in my zrx1200 and picked up a tenth and 2 MPH ...It really wakes a bike up ..... and make the tail pipe look pretty too...

Haha!
good news...
here all along I thought it was my inferior skilz doin the wheelie thing to me!
yup if you twist it real hard real fast it comes up and wants to go over.
I never dump and peg it in 1st as it just inhibits progress.
I have fly's out too though,
When it hits about 9,000 and the front is still climbing i just grab second and pin it.
with flies out it doesn't seem to matter if it dips below 7ooo rpm for a fraction of a second when recovering in second gear!

Smokey, pull them flies and run brocks no flies map, with your weight you'll be able to launch lower rpm yet... I bet it will lower your ET!
leave at like 4-5000 rpm, let all 100 ft lbs work for ya, get it rollin before it see's full boost will help wheelies some...
Just what i have noticed last couple months playin with it!

So you are keeping it on the ground with it only being lowered and strapped? I was thnking of doing only that but i still may need to stretch it.

I have been waiting for another 14 owner to confirm this Muzzy thing in my own eyes. Well day before yesterday one of the other local 14 owners had me install a Muzzy's pipe, TRE & PCIII on his bike. First off I couldnt believe the way the mid pipe necks down to 2 inches (right in the middle..all out in the open and everything) before the little 2 inch collector. And where it necks down it is welded together and then the weld is ground down (poorly at that...little voids and gaps in the weld seam..not all the way through for an exhaust leak..but still ugly). By the way..his going with the Muzzy pipe was against my recommendations..I told him to go with the Brocks like mine. Well aftwards we went out to test in Roll-Ons. We rolled on in second from about 40 miles an hour and both were shifting at 11k.

Second was pretty close to equal..except my front tire was floating and his wasnt.

Third I would start to pull him about a quarter of a bike length

Fourth I would just start to yank on him...he said by the end of fourth I had at least 4 bike lengths on him.

Fifth He said by the top of fifth I was about 50 feet in front of him. He was at an Indicated 180 and I was over 190 mph indicated at the top of fifth.

Oh and by the way I am giving up 20lbs to him. He couldnt believe that my pipe made that much difference from his. He said he will probably buy a Brocks now next summer LOL. He is happy with the power gains he has over stock..but said I pulled him like he wasnt even on another 14.

I said it along time ago, same results on my Busa switching from muzzy's to brocks. I like muzzy exhaust if you don't care about the most hp or quickest et.

The Muzzy is a good pipe for the money, way better than stock ..But the Brocks pipe kicks ass plane and simple ..... If i wasn't a drag racer i would be happy with the Muzzy pipe.........Just lay the Muzzy pipe along side of the Brocks and you can see why Brocks pipe makes more HP..Smokin...

The thing is..I am a Drag Racer..but I also go out on the weekends and shred the edges of my tires in corners and I like making top end runs as well...so i guess I kind of use this bike to do it all on. The cool thing is even though the Brocks is a drag oriented pipe It pulls the other bikes in the fourth and fifth harder than most of them can even believe....and I dont even really use those gears at the strip (ok i just use a little bit of 4th in the quarter). They can call Brocks pipes drag pipes...but they sure seem to be the BEST ALL AROUND pipes to me as my 14 does it all, at warp speed, thanks to Brock.

Oh and lower rpm fly less launches will be easier on the clutch too!
It would be great if someone else could confirm my fly less lower rpm launch theories.

practice,practice,practice.....Have you had the bike dyno tuned? You need to if you pulled the flies out or put a pc and download a map. At that elevation you will be a few tenths off but you should have a few tenths left in you. How much do you weigh?
Hey Smokin...what did you ever do about your clutch? Last I heard you thought it was slipping. When you going to come to Indiana and make a few pass's on my bike? lol
