Flies=Sub throttle plates (what you took out)
You got rid of the popping at 3700 completely?

quote: Actually if you waited you would have the new TRE and map set up for the 14. Totally stopped (100%) the popping of my Muzzy which I thought was impossible with just a new set up. And this is the set up for the throttle plates removed. Meaning the lean condition mentioned in a review I read does not exist. Mind you my 14s gear indicator now says N at all times. It is on a different circuit. And a different TRE. I would have paid anything to lose that popping so I am as happy as can be. As well I could not believe that the vibrations I was used to feeling for the last 5000 miles were gone. I wouldn't have believed allot of this if I didn't feel it myself. Hence this is the reason I waited to take the throttle plates out. Not sure what flies means but I took my throttle plates out. I would explain more and post the new dyno charts ect ect. But most people on here just start complaining like children. So as most of the things I have posted I will first be laughed at. And later on will see posts stating what I did a while ago. You guys know so much more then me so no need to explain. Have fun with your 6th gear setting. I'll stick with my N. Oh this cost me 0$ as all and any future upgrades are mine for the taking. And yes the bike does light up with the plates removed so now I know what I was missing. VAK
The 14 is relatively new still, there are going to be all kinds claims that my invention does this and that along those lines you will always have skeptics. I'm happy where I'm at now, so no regrets for not waiting for the "new" stuff. I don't notice much of a popping on my 14 than from stock, maybe I have the new and improved PCIII or the map I borrowed was done perfectly, who knows and who cares, it runs awesome!

Don't forget the air screws! It's not the fix-all, it's a tuning step not to neglect.

DA2OR,
1. Capped off? No, there is no, "limiter cap" or an anti-tamper cover to hide the low speed screws, if that's what you mean?
2. There are 4 air screws, one for each cylinder. Combination I found is as follows: 1# - 1/8 open. #2 3/4 open. #3 Closed. #4 1/8 open.
3. Correct. The screws are only to smooth out the idle. There are no other fuel and/or air passages but the one air screw that feeds air, and the other matching orifice is the hose routing for the vacuum intake air sensor routing. The injectors are the idle, mid-range, and WOT... all rolled into one. No fuel to a cylinder?...(if not electrical) change out the injector unit... (they are available over the counter).
Sorry 1965, nothing is for sale off the bike. I have a problem with heavy bikes. Just making it a little lighter... as if I care what it looks like afterward. Close your eyes, twist the throttle, then tell me if you'll choose aesthetics over improved performance?

Now that is an adjustment i was totally unaware of what with being an EFI motor 'n' all .
So is this recipe what you have found to work or what the factory had them set at?
Great info BTW!

Wasn't about to seeing how #3 is completely turned off.
But i just wanted to be sure of what it was i was attempting to tinker with is all.
However, my bike is running tits as is so i'm thinking i'd better go with my past experiences and leave well enough alone

That's the best advice. Stay close to stock as possible and you won't need to go to this extreme.
My thinking here... is to close any "lean" loophole you can find? This was more for the "highly altered" (subless) tuning configurations. Lean is mean, but I believe you'll, "break out" of that small window.
Think of it like when a lawnmower runs out of gas? Right when it's about to shut down, it revs real high. That high rev is peak fuel/air efficiency = (dangerously) Lean!

Yeah, too much info for me...I like how it runs as is. More than enough power for me...for the moment anyways.
