ZX14 VS. CBR1000 Repsol 1/4 Calling all of you go fasters. I am lining up with a Repsol edition CBR1000. The stakes are pretty high. I've beat him by 3 bikes on my gixxer 1000 and he thinks the 14 is slower. Big mistake. He has a PC and a yosh full system, stock wheelbase and heght. I have the Brocks smeg system, PC, stock wheel base and height. Keep in mind that I am 5'9" and 130 lbs. Should I? I almost guarantee I'll win. What do you think.

Nightmare I have run more than one 1000 cc bike and killed them easy, if you have allready run him with a Gixxer 1000 and you beat him you will kill him on the zx14 ... If you are going from a dead stop go to a empty road or parking lot and try some dead stop starts.... The more the better ... On the street bring the motor up to 3500 slip the clutch and slowy twist the throttle, don't get to quick with the clutch or it will spin ...Don't get to quick with the throttle either or you may wheely after the clutch is out....What you are looking for is a smooth launch with the front wheel just drifting across the tarmac....
If you go from a roll you have no problems you will just kill him... Start from 2 gear at 60 MPH ... That CBR will be dead meat..... One trick that works well ( but you will not need it) Is when going from a roll YOU not HIM Honk you horn 3 times and you go on 3...... Right when you hit the horn on the third time twist the throttle at the same time and you will get the Jump... Like i said you will not have to do this but it may make you feel better .. Remember the liter bike is going to wheely much easier than you so all you need is a good start with no wheely and it's all over ...Good luck and let us all know what happens ..Smokin...

I've watched Smokin' and his friend...matter of fact hoping to watch some more Gixxer 1000's and ZX10's lose to the 14's this upcoming Saturday night hehe

Should have no problem walking away from him, let me be the 1st to congradulate you on the victory. Faster bike through the 1/4 and you're 130 lbs, trust me, I've seen how much being a light rider makes a difference, I'm 5'5" 145-160 lbs depending on where I want to weigh. I've done roll-ons with great riders that weighed only 30-50 lbs more than me, swapped bikes, and won everytime on both bikes.

Have you removed the secondary butterflies ?
Launching with them still fitted needs a lot of rev's and if it bogs down he'll leave you for dead. Best of luck.

At a 130 lbs and racing an 04/05 CBR should be no problem unless the guy is really good...
But all things being equal (rider ect ect) the 14 is the fastest 1/4 mile bike available..I was looking at mc usa's Vbox data and the 14 is doing 0-100 in 4.84 seconds completely stock...0-60 in 2.61 seconds....The CBR is over 3 seconds..
Lot's of guys lose roll ons because they're at too low of an rpm/too high of a gear and the other guy wins because of a simple rider error...and I imagine that's the case with the stories of GSXR1000's beating 14's...
A rider on a 600 can smoke a 1000 in a 50-80 roll on if the 1000cc rider is trying to take off in 6th and the 600 is in 2nd...But put both bikes in the power at the start of a roll it's bye bye 600.
From a roll all you have to do is make sure you're rolling at an rpm/speed where the ZX14's powerband starts...Even if the CBR is at it's correct rpm you should have no problem moving away from him briskly...

I have launched a many bikes as well as the 14 but the other tips came in handy. the front tire slid like ice as I quickly walked away from him. Both races was at least 7 bikes I was told. From a roll. I basically comitted murder. Now for Nuke, If you are going to say something, please speak the truth. I had an 06 gixxer and that bike was a beast but was not close to the 14. I know good fuckin well that SWFT warned about trolls but you continue to fuck it up for everybody. You won't be satisfied till someone knocks you on your ass. I wish you was in the Marine Corps. We would play games. fuckin trolls! ____________

Thanks Steve. I am more in the mood to put the Busa's to bed on Saturday. I expect you to ride that bike this weekend and not park it. We will do the Skyway ride again if you want.

good job..... nuke's not a troll, he seems to be a pretty good guy and has good information at times. he rides a "zuki" now, but he will be assymilated.
