actually black chrome , is transparent black applied over chrome, and yes, the paint or powder coat can't adhere to the smooth chrome finnish well, will chip and peel off the chrome very easilly.
Looks damn good, but very delicate stuff.
Good only for show.

Actually black chrome is not a coating over chrome..(at least REAL black chrome isnt) It can be faked by a black coating over chrome. Real black chrome is actually a special nickle coating that has been polished...no actual chrome in it.

Highest maintenence finnish I ever have experienced, oxidizes very quickly!
