Brock's ZX14 breaks 200 mph at Maxton

Brock's ZX14 diary bike runs 200.92 mph at the Maxton mile with Chad Millholland riding. Chad weighs 50 pounds less than Brock. Brock jumped on and ran 198.106 mph. Remember, Brock's engine is stock with only Brock's bolt on accessories. WOW!! This is damn good performance in a measured mile. Congrtulations to Brock on his accomplishment!!! Brock will post up when he gets back home. Brock uses a speedohealer set at -90% to bypass the limiter.

That's all fine and good guys, BUT Dan, Zack, and Chad Millholland all three did the same thing on Dan's 12R years ago.. It was also stock with just bolt on stuff. As a matter O fact it's still stock and ran 185 PLUS with beetle bags bolted on this weekend... NOT to say the 14 isn't impressive but the 12R is still a monster

I'm still thinking........................................GUYS Dan's simularly prepped 12R did it 6 years ago, and again it ran 202 I do believe with ALL three of the above mentioned riders on it in the same day..

The 14 is an all around better bike than the 12R because it's more refined, BUT for brute power the 12R is STILL a bike to beat. I love BOTH bikes but I can't help but like the 12 better. She's going to go down in history and be very collectable in the future. Mine will never leave my side.

VegasDude,
Not to nit-pick but I'm pretty sure Brocks best pass was a 196.xx
He rode the wheels off the bike but figured 200 wasn't gonna happen with time running out and the ambient temp rising.
DaveO suggested that Chad ride the bike and with 4 passes between 199.1 and 199.3 we were all starting to wonder. After some fine tuning by Brock..... 200.9mph.
Like Brock stated: They'll be faster passes on a 14 but only one first true 200.
Brock and Chad both done well and as I've said, the 14's are awesome.

Dan,
I do believe that VegasDude is right - Brock took two more passes after Chad did his handy work - I believe that Brock's final run was 198.xx as I recall at least in the closing moments - It was great to meet you and I look forward to next year and getting to spend some time together at these events - and as for Chad - pure talent - he has got the touch. Tell him thanks again for taking the pass and showing me how it is done - a chip off the old block.

Thanks guys!

FYI: after my first pass on Sunday morning was a "nothing left to do 196" perfect run as far as my rookie ass was concerned. I decide to hunt down Chad to run the bike because he knows how to ride Maxton as well as anyone and with his size advantage, he was the perfect choice.

I knew I had no idea what I was dealing with at Maxton and kept trying to relate the mile to the ΒΌ in an attempt to find a common ground. I decided to start watching the event instead of just thinking I could do it. I get SO MAD when rookie drag racers don't watch the pros and then get angry when they don't do as well as they think they should!

Anyway, after Chad ran 199.XXX FOUR TIMES IN A ROW....I decided to start tuning and making changes because what we were doing was obviously not getting the job done. In a last ditch, day- almost - over- attempt to at least have the speeds do something (good or bad), I brought my laptop down to the staging area and changed the map ...even though the data logger said the A/F was perfect. Perfect compared to WHAT, hell I didn't know what the bike wanted at 50 mph faster than it runs in the 1/4.!

Dave O also came over and made a chassis suggestion to help out. I don't know which one did the most, but Chad ran 200.92 after the changes

FYI: We had a rear/cross wind and 2200ft corrected air density...last time out, Dave O ran 220 mph...his best this weekend was 215.....

After ZX-14 history was made, I jumped on the bike and ran 196 after missing 6th gear and then ran the second to last pass of the day at 198.06 MPH.

I am writing my Diary Part 3 as we speak for dragbike.com I will have detailed photo's and the full story by the end of the week if possible.

Thanks for your support!

Good Luck and GO FAST!

Brock

Vegasdude,
I apologize for my error.
I had been watching Brock run all week-end in anticipation of the first 200mph run of a ZX14, somehow I missed his very last run of 198, that's why I said "I'm pretty sure".
Bottom line is they done great and Brock got to get some LSR experience.
You were right..........I was wrong, sorry.

To show how great an engine the 14's got, it has tons of dyno runs on it and numerous runs at the track...................and it still did 200...............................
