wtf is up with the prices.
This would be a cool $100 bill with shipping. Da*m! For a bolt and bracket. Moving farther away from doing any business with muzzy.

yeah, a hundred blickets for a bracket is a bit steep... but so is 10 bucks for a sixer of guinness... just one of the prices to pay for happiness, i suppose.

looks like a nicely machined piece to me... hey... If ya dont wanna spend $89 for a tested, machined custom bracket, you could always go to Home Depot and spend $3 on some plumber's strap... bet that's do the trick!!

Don't expect these to sell in huge numbers, probably made by hand in their machine shop. So what's your hourly rate then ?
As for shipping costs, I was charged $114 for a small Jiffy bag from USA to UK and then another £37-25 to the Customs and Excise. That nearly doubled the cost of 200 bucks worth of bits.

$ 114 does seem steep for $ 200 worth of buds.

You're very welcome. Actually I wasn't having a moan, I paid those shipping costs because I couldn't get the items I needed any other way. The point was that $10 shipping costs might not seem too bad to some folk.

But gas prices are down.
What's Silly is we are excited that gas is down to $2.40 a gal.
But really it is a nice peice, just pricey due to it's limited customer base.
I'm sure it would come down if it were to fit more bikes later.
You gotta give props to Muzzy he does quality work, but is still a business man.

You should check what machine shop rates are these days. We have 2, $125.0 hr. and $145.00 hr. Our cost of operation which includes all overheads such as engineering, sales, labor, materials, tooling , utilities, packaging, etc. is over $90.00 per hr. While our equipment is much larger than anything Muzzy might need it still gives you an idea of what is involved in building these specialty parts. It's not like building brake pads for Chevy trucks where you know you are going to sell a bazillion of the damn things.
He has to build them on spec and try to build enough to get the pricing down, without building so many that his shelf is still full of them at fiscal year end and have to pay iventory tax on them.
Maybe you should design one and get a few manufactured so you can sell them to everyone at a more favorable price.

A little time and welding and you could make something like I did for a ZX6 for about free from a scrap pile at local machine shop..

First of all, for those of you who have something to say about what I do with my money ! If you cant see that that price are WAY out box, open your eyes. My statement had nothing to do with the quality of the product. And don't get me wrong, Muzzy has done more than most will ever do for this lifestyle. Looks very much like the bracket they sell with the zx9, zx10, zx12 busa, and the gsxr 1000 air shift kits. So most of the tooling is already done. As far as what I've made, you've might have flown in something powered by what I've made. I guess the point is this. The bracket is really not needed. Let's see, raise the gear shifter - free, get a longer air cylinder - $20. Wait a second Ricky and Coby don't even use this product! And the bike has MUZZY all over it. Seen eightball, and talked with both about the set up, i.e.-Cut oil pan and oil filter relocator Coby will be selling, and OMG the shifter arm itself with the hole drilled through it and asked how strong it was. Ricky said it's fine and the only set up he has used on the 14.

Smiddy- Dude lighten up . . .you know that bracket was made just for the guy who wants to put his bike back totally stk later, right?
We all have enough brains to do exactly what you are saying, I personally would just drill the shifter, and replace it later if I wanted it stk again.
So even Rob Muzzy knows a very limited # of guys who would even buy any airshifter would use this bracket, why do you think it is avail. seperate now? He's got to make back his outlay in tooling. He is just providing a service.
stevewfl- Now I can't say the same for the sliders, almost every ZX14 owner should invest in a set for insurance. Much bigger market! But I haven't seen his up close yet, can't see where it should cost $99 let alone the new updated price of $149.
Maybe for Rob to be happy with the product he had to have a steel insert installed in the Alum spacers as well as much higher tensile strength bolts, after all they are a pretty long slider compared to others. You always get quality stuff from Muzzy, you just have to pay for it.
What makes it seem so outragous a price because we see other mfgrs. with $40-50 price tags on them, I havent seen them actually out on the market yet. So until I see how well or poorly the cheaper sliders are made I'll wait to get a set, because at $149 that is already almost what I've seen a side panel priced for lately.
The beautiful part of living in America we all have choices.
My opinion only!
