zx-14 meets 2006 gsxr1000

I ran a gsxr 1000 this weekend. we wan three race and i won two of the three. the first was i gave him one and the break and he beat me by about a half a bike. he then gain his confidence and offered me the head up break and it was ugly. I won by about 5 bike lenths then we ran head up with a flag man i imediatley jump him about 3 bikes. I was far ahead of him and got out of it thogh i beat him it was only about a half bike and this guy id still talking shit. Now i am in the middle hole and a full muzzy pipe with the flies removed. i am not properly mapped yet but i will be soon.

i am not sure of his mod but he was slammed on the ground and he was running so good gas. i think he had more mods than meets the eye beaue he was a little to eager to run. i think i shoud have done better but hey i did win two.

Congrats on the win. Unfourantly there is no bike you can buy off the showroom that will win every race one will come across. Some ya win, some ya lose, than you of course have to figure in riders weight/skill and other mods and more importantly available $$ dollars to spend on mods. Not many go beyond pipe/pc/nos/gears

I am an average rider, 195 lbs. I have a 1070 2001 gsxr 1000 made about 178-180 on pump gas depending on the day/dyno and being rebuilt now with a considerable jump in HP on paper look impressive and will run well but never compete on all out top end with the larger bikes. 60-160 will be a beast though

The old setup I lost to a 1290 that weighed a good 100lbs more, rider was a few lbs heavier as well and also a 12with a piped/pc/geared but a 100-105 lb rider. TQ prevails on the top end, than others I have won. Miss a shift, start in the wrong gear and its all over

Never know, not even freinds tell you everything thay have done! There all fast, the key is finding where your sweet spot is and exploting it.

Rick

Question? - What does this mean?

" the first was i gave him one and the break and he beat me by about a half a bike."
"I gave him one and the break" means?

And this:

"he then gain his confidence and offered me the head up break"
"head up break" means?

I'm new to this expression too:
"Now i am in the middle hole"

Sounds like you had a good time.

I raced an experienced rider on his 05 tuned and full system gsxr1000 and I won all 5 times. He used to always beat me when I had my 06 gsxr100 but not anymore. We raced from a dead stop, 1 gear roll, and a few 2nd gear roll-ons. stevewfl was there and witnessed it. Even with a wheely off the line, I still got him. Thank goodness for no flies

I wonder what the 0-60 and top gear roll on times would be on the 14 with the flies removed...I think stock in one of the Euro mags it was 60-80 in 3 seconds and tthe GSXR was about 2.5 or so.....

With the flies removed on the 14 the roll ons have to be like a totally different bike...More torque at 3500 rpm than any 1000cc bike at their peak....

"one" refers to bikelenghts and the "break" means he starts when he is ready instead of waiting on the flag man....

"head up" means side by side----- but he still had the (break)see above def

middle hole on the lowering links.....

nightmare it is not that hard to remove the flies, 2 screws in each. But I would recommend a pc if you don't already have on.

Its all about the mods. I have a stock 06 ZX14 and a piped, geared and lowered 06 GSXR1000. I like both of the bikes a lot but frankly the Gixxer would run away from the ZX in any race. If the Gixxer was stock I dont know who would win cuz I cant remember how the Gixxer ran stock.
The gearing alone gives the Gixxer a huge advantage. In 6th gear the Gixxer (stock) runs 75 MPH at 5,000 RPM. The ZX runs 100 at 5,000 RPM. To make the gearing equal in a roll on the Gixxer should start in 6th gear and the ZX in 4th. If the ZX was geared the same as the Gixxer it would be a wheelie machine for sure and I am sure would accelerate a lot faster than stock.
In roll ons the rider isnt as important as from a standing start so all else being equal HE WITH THE MOST AND BEST MODS WINS !!!
