Rear Tire
Just wanted to here from others about how long there original rear tire lasted. I've got alittle under 2500 miles on mine, and it looks like it's gonna need to be replaced soon. ( no dyno, or track time on it). Plus anyone run a 200 on the rear yet, didn't know if it would fit.

I have almost a bit over 3000 miles on my original tires and both are getting pretty low
I just aquired a set of Racetec K2's to replace them though
The rear is a 190/55 so i'll have a bit more rear height.
Hopefully they'll stick better than the originals

Still on the originals, got about 2500 so far and they look good. For replacement I went with the Avon deal on the Viper Sports, went with a 200/50/17 AV60 rear, and they sent the front for shipping, 18 bux. Really good looking tires and cant wait to try them out. I see some are going down a size on one of the other boards, dont know whats up with that. I am also -1 on the front sprocket. That will compensate for the bigger tire......TB

Buy a 200 if you spend your time cruising Sonic on Friday night.
Buy a 190 if you actually ride the bike in the curves.

Hard to imagine someone recommending LESS contact patch for a bike of this size but hey, whatever floats yer boat I guess.

Popular mod...going down to a 180...was popular on the 12R's too...slightly less contact patch, but more P per SI = more traction and the ability to go down lower in corners...although from pics of the 14 in corners, I doubt that it would make much of a difference, since the plastics have a tendency to hit the ground in any case.

You can easily fit a 200 or maybe even a 210 under there, but why? I know it looks cool, but handling is compromised.

I've run a 200, 180 and then a 190 on my 12 and I prefer the 190.
It's purely subjective but I just feel the 12 feels more balanced with a 190.
I would never, ever go back to a 200. That tire sucked more than Paris Hilton.

Yep - I did that all in the space of about 6 weeks (love Cycle Gears MotoGuard) and wholeheartedly agree with that statement.
Just put a 190/50 back on the 10 after runnin a 190/55 - not quite sure yet which I preferred...
