The oniy problem I had this this kind of set-up was the line running from the valve to the cylinder got hot and started to melt. The line never pop'd but ,it got twisted and melted.

I put my valve right on the aircylinder. It works great that way and it's alot faster shifting. I can send the pics to somebody if they want to post them.

Not worried about being legal at this point. Eventually will get a trac dynamics swingarm.
Smokin, no deal from Rob, but he was nice enough to send his mechanic over to help me out.
BTW, airshifter didn't work last night right off the trailer. Something either came unplugged, or the solenoid died. The solenoid isn't passing air to the ram, and yes I have plenty of air.

What is the advantage of getting a full swingarm over the roaring toyz extensions? I understand that it alleviates the chance of the extension kit breaking or falling off but have those been succesful for full drag racing? I ask because I bought the roaringtoyz swing arm extensions because of you iflyhi........LOL.......not to blame you but I did what you did.

I want to go further back eventually, and also want a NOS bottle bracket welded to the swingarm, with a longer chain guard. I could do all that on a stock swingarm, but why mess up the stock one. Besides, what's another $1400.
If/when I go with NOS, or turbo, I want to be around 68 to 70 inches, and I'm not sure if I can go that far back with the toyz. Plus, IF I start making serious HP, the stock swingarm isn't strong enough. Some have reported that under very hard launches the swingarm is twisting. Interestingly, the extenstions are the strong point there.

Air shifter fixed. A wire connector had come unplugged, and to get to it I had to pull of some plastic and raise up the tank. I replugged it, and this time I taped the connectors together, and re-routed the wires.

Dunno yet. Wire came loose at the track so I couldn't use it. Will try to go too testicals and tune tomorrow, but this being Louisiana it will probably rain. I used an airshifter on my old pro-street bike, with an autometer proshift control set to 11.5K. I loved it. It never missed a shift, and I didn't even have to hit the button.
Got another autometer, just gotta figure out where to get an rpm signal from, and which wire to tap into to make it shift. But that's another project for when I off again.

Yea, same here. Sometimes I notice that I'm driting close to the wall, usually just catch it in my perephereal vision and have to correct. It's nice having an autoshifter, you can look around, and not worry about shifting. It's a must have for bracket racing as you can watch the guy your racing, and watch his hands to see if he's letting off.

I was thinking of finding the signal wire for the OE shift light and tappin into that...like a ghetto autoshifter...just put a toggle on there when i'm not using it.

Somebody somewhere told me that signal was a canbus signal. I was also told the grey wire with the blue stripe going into the ECU give you an rpm signal that is readable. Used to be you just tapped one of the coils and that was it.

One more thing, there's only one wire for that light, so if your launch light goes on, your bike shifts.

Hey iflyphi, you know where I would put that bottle???

I would drill 2 holes in the swingarm before the rear wheel and thread it, then put a bottle mount in there...That's where alot of guys are putting their bottles for the 14...At 62inch wheel base a 2lb. bottle with mount fits with room!!!

That's probably what I'm gonna end up doing with the NOS. I'll leave the other bottle where it is. Was just gonna explore other options first.

Bad news. Went to the drags on Friday, and I tested the airshifter on the stand before I made a pass, and the air solonoid was not releasing the air after the upshift. It would shift one, sometimes two times, then jam the shifter in the up positions. I would have to turn the power off on the shifter to get it to release.
Thought maybe if I ran it down the track it would work better under a heavy load. Nope. Same thing, after the first shift, it locked the shifter in the up position. Once I turned the shifter off, it released the air, and the shifter returned to normal position.

Does anybody else here use this Muzzy airshifter??

I rode the crap out of it when I tested the 14. Must be a bad solenoid or relay. It happens. Vendor parts sometimes have unforseen defects. I'm sure they'll make it right.

I know they will make it right, but come on. First the digi-kill dies, then this. I've about had it with this thing. It has yet to work right on the track even one freaking time!!!!!
