Need opinion on seat options. I'm sending this pic to Corbin to see if they will make this seat for me and how much it will cost. I was just curious what you guys think about it. I'm really not digging the look of the banana seat. My 12's cowl tabs eventually broke off and the screws stripped in a matter of weeks. This way, I can keep the sporty look without dealing with the damn cowl.

I'm guessing matching the paint will be the biggest issue...especially for the blue14s.
If corbin wont do it, I'll have a local redo the seat. I've already looked at some of his red leather and vinyl...I think it will be very feasible.
Not to mention, it slims down the rear quite a bit.

Do you sit lower on the corbin? and does it elliminate the sliding up the seat as you move to the back and sliding down with braking? Is it any easier to tuck in tight against the tank?

Wasn't there a company that made seats to match a motorcycle's color scheme? Second look or something like that. Are they still around?

I haven't found the stock seat that bad at all. Hell after riding honda sportbikes which seats like cement anything is comfy. Yup kawi should have made a proper two step seat like other sportbikes. I know there's alot more involved than just foam and seat cover but sometimes you can buy a sofa with what corbin charges for his seats.

Matching the paint is exactly what the issue was when I talked to them last week. Not that they can't, its just that they haven't even considered this kind of option when I talked to them.
Second-Look seat skins...haven't heard from them in a long time. I know one place that still carries them, but I think they sit in a warehouse next to all the unbought Sturgis t-shirts and shot glasses.
Kawi had made some that matched the 2000-2001's perfect, but they were slicker than owl poo. No way I'd go that route---the ole' lady would be sitting in traffic two lights behind you.

Hey Vegas can you please tell me the difference that you feel between the corbin and factory seat? One of my favorite seats was on the 03 gsxr 1000 nice and soft.

Well the corbin puts you in the correct riding position. You don't lean as much forward. The seat is harder. The seat feels too wide at first, but after 100 miles or so the seat fits perfect. I guess you spread out over time. You get no burn or hot spots. The stock seat is good, but after 200 miles you start to feel it. With the Corbin, you don't. The corbin took about 200 miles to break in and after that you never think about the seat. This tells me its a great seat.

I don't think I could ever own another bike without a corbin seat. I have put them on my last two bikes. They help out quite a bit. Also it prevents you from riding up on the tank.
