Kawasaki/Zamp helmet review The factory Kawasaki helmet is a nice match for the ZX-14s..if you dont mind the modern dull finish helmet as opposed to the shiny finish. I just got the red one and its a pretty nice match in color to the bike. They are made by Zamp (who I have never heard of) and they have a lot of nice features. 6 different adjustable vent openings, cheek pads that snap out for cleaning, DOT and SNELL approved, breath deflector, adjustable stabilizer on top for those hi speed runs (yes it works..I already tried it) and they even have replacement warranty even if you crash impact the helmet (by the way it is a composite helmet not a plastic shell helmet also) It is called the RZ-10 Hang Loose and they come in the black, blue and red of the 14s (good color match but non metallic). And, best of all, its suggested retail is only $159.95 U.S.. (P.S. best airflow ive ever felt through a helmet.)

Can you post a link to exeactly where you found it at kawasaki.com? I'm having no luck, and assumed it would be under motorcycles, ZX14, "accessories and gear". I'm in the market for a cheap second helmet.

Thanks swft, I drilled down but flat red he mentioned seems impossible to find, or I'm losing my mind which is probably the case. I have no probs finding flat black or flat white.
I'm thinking with the red/black/white dainese jacket and black gloves, I may be better off with the next helmet in flat black anyway though

Here's what I use (flat black)...blows my Arai, Sho-weeeee & Shark (garbage) away, way more quite than all of them and great fit and fnish. Ventilation is superb and it's very inexpensive too ...from Scorpion helmets

I have an arai quantum II. That's my knockaround helmet. Then there's the RX7RR4 which doesn't match the bike, but is a great helmet!

Good thread since its about time to replace my Sho-eeeeeeeee RF700. I don't always wear ear plugs so who makes the most quiet helmet??

The Zamp FS-2, Solid Red I find. But that $159 with the fins so sarcastic that they look like they could guide an F-15 with the afterburners on I can't find, which is what he mentioned above? I find it in black only

It is the same helmet that SWFT posted at the top of the thread only in red, also available in blue and black (black is pictured at top of thread) The thing the pictures dont show is that those arent fins on the side...they are the supports for the cross bar spoiler that runs between them. I had the bike up over 180 (actual not indicate) mph again to today and this helmet is rock solid stabile...even after I sat up into the wind again at about 170 and no helmet lift at all...you can say what you want about the "fins" but the spoiler that they support works. By the way in the kawasaki accessories pages click on riding gear, then helmets then click on page 6 and they are the 3rd, 4th, and 5th from the top of the page. I wasnt sure about the graphics on the helmet at first but honestly I have gotten way more positive feedback on it than negative...it definately looks a little different...but hey then so is the ZX-14 and I love it. (I am still trying to get smooth carbon fiber George Foreman replacements though LOL)

Ok i just did a little more research..this company must be no joke...they make a licensed F-1 racing (cars) helmet all carbon only $3000.00 and they make the officially licensed ferrari racing helmet also. www.zamp-racing.com the site also has better pictures of the spoiler on the helmet as well.
