For those of you participating in the alarm testing...
Ok people...here it is...
The Phantom X (test) alarms are about ready to ship now...plastics have been approved and we have the samples in hand; we should have them ready to go next week and they should ship out by Friday Sept 8.
I asked those of you who wanted to particpate in the test to e-mail me your COMPLETE contact info...some of you did and some of you sent me an e-mail address and phone number....obviously I can't ship a product to an e-mail address or a phone number Duhhhh.
Here's the new deal...
1) I'm going to post a link on Tuesday Sept 5 here on the site for you all to visit, so you can enter all of your information in order for us to ship to you. Now, when you fill out the form, enter the address where the product is to be shipped to, I don't care where you live, we just need to know where we are shipping to so the product gets there. The install guide will not be included in the box; you will need to go back to the site and download it from the link you will be provided with. Your unit will have an ESN (Electronic Serial Number) which we will enter into your profile before it ships. This is so we can track the calls or issues should any arise. (we hope none!)
2) You will each get a call from our customer service people to confirm your address and ask you for a credit card so we can charge the card for shipping only (marginal fee, no stupid excess shipping charges). As you all know, we aren't charging you squat for the unit(s). If you don't have a card, send us the money by money order. You'll be told how much when we call you...prolly something like 25 bucks or so (coming across the border from Canada)
There will be a link on the site for feedback as well, which will send you e-mails every so often with a clickable link to the feedback form, where you would login and provide us with feedback.
Your feedback is crucial to us as it will help us to determine how to improve the product and make it the most secure and appealing security system around. The field testing will help us evaulate how well the product performs as well as help us to implement new features at a later date. No question is too stupid and if you have one...you'll be able to call our toll free number or e-mail us directly. We need to know how you feel about the product and ease of installation and use.
I'm not providing free units because I'm a nice guy...(I'm not anyway, as some of you have already indicated ), I'm providing them to you because you are going to help me with the development and marketability of the product. In exchange, you're going to get a really slick new security system that will keep your bike secure and will be totally hands free in terms of use...something never seen on a bike before.
We look forward to all of your feedback, good or bad...by the way, anyone who ever called me an asshole or a dick need not apply for the test...(just kidding).:P
I take my business very seriously, but I'm a tech junkie myself....so what you're going to see is a product that has been engineered by me and my software team here at Autoland. We're all bikers here too so we we've designed a product that was built and engineered by bikers, for bikers...
The product will be used on bikes, ATV's sleds and eventually personal watercraft (with some software mod's)
The product is a handsfree transponder driven system that arms automatically when the bike shuts off and disarms when it see's the rider within 10ft of the bike, each time the key is turned on. The tilt sense is fully automated and learns its postion each time the system arms or trips. There is no sensitivity adjustment as it's microprocessor controlled and shouldn't false. The transponder works in bi-directional mode (more commonly known as 2-way paging) and will advise the rider as to an alarm by way of a piezo beeper in the remote (up to 700' away). There is nothing to do once the system is installed and working. It's as easy as that...no buttons to press...just turn the key, start the vehicle and ride! I'm not selling anything here today, so the admins can't delete my post -- kidding guys...
We will be starting to advertise on this site very shortly. It will be our 1st ad for this product and we're pleased to launch at Bikeland.org!

Hey fba - About how long (approximately) do you estimate an average install will take? Also, will a person need access to a wiring diagram to tap into appropriate wires, or is it a power-only sort of thing?

Sounds awesome. Do you know what these will cost yet or are you still looking for people to do the testing?

Cool FBA
Wow I'm gonna be busy this month!
Christmas in september!
Corbin, buel pegs, speedohealer, adjustable cam sprokets, suspension springs for the bike, and if race tech has valving kits worked out some new hydraulics too!
My Brute Force 750 pistons and cams came in from Fundy Powersports.
The quad will be going from 55 to over 90 HP! Gots some test and tune and clutching to do.

Well, it gets installed, so it would be tough to move back and forth...
Matt, we will give you all the perfect location (under the left GF grill) on the 14 and all the colors and pics for that install..took us about 1 hour to install including solder, tape and tie wraps! If's so small (all in one piece) if fits almost anywhere on any bike!

How difficult will it be to trace down the wires for non-14's?

Sounds cool. Can I get one for my sled also. Might not be riding much on the 14 by the time they get here. Maybe end of October. Been riding sleds here from 3rd week in Oct to April. 40's @ night already. We had our last bike night, last night for the season

That was a really good year for snow. Last year we only had about a month and a half of barely ridable snow. It is rain, slush, and crap. I don't mind the cold, but once the salt hits the road, the bike goes away. Did I misunderstand FBA? Were you going to post a link yesterday or were we supposed to send you the info via PM? Guess I'll send you one just in case. I'm gonna be off-line till Tuesday. Going racing and riding.
