suspension settings?

I've seen a lot of related threads with some experimentation....

any definitive info / settings to keep my fat ass from bottom this bike's forks out? Man... that "thwack" hurts my ears, and my feelings!

I think its just plain undersprung. New fork springs with a stiffer spring rate are needed..

I have two turns more preload and 1 click more compression damping. Seems about right but stiffer springs with less preload and compression would be ideal.

I've only got about 200 miles on my bike to date. (1 week old) and was wondering about settings myself. I'm not NEAR as big as a lot of you out there at 5'9/150lbs. It doesn't seem too soft to me SO FAR but I haven't pushed it real hard either. Any of you guys/gals nearer my height/weight have suspension setting suggestions? Right now mine is as it came from the dealer, and haven't changed a thing.

I'm scrawny and I've always felt the suspension is soft (both front and rear). I haven't done anything about it yet, and look forward to what you experts say about it. Thanks for posting this topic...

The suspension is way undersprung both front and rear. That and it doesn't feel like it has enough compression damping up front. My 12R was undersprung in the back, but I go it sorted out, along with the front end. No such luck with the 14 so far..

Start off by turning the fork spring preload clock wise 1 full turn at a time to make the forks stiffer...

Same goes for the rear spring!!!

Turn clockwise in 1/4 turn increments on the comp. adjust screw.

I weigh 250 w/gear. What is your weight? I'll check my settings & let you know. I've got it to the point that it RARELY bottoms. I'm going to send forks to Lindemann Eng. for a complete overload. I going to go w/ a Pense on the rear when they are available.$$$$ will hurt the wallet but, my ass will definitely appreciate it.

yeah, once it has some miles on it, the rear will bottom too, pretty easilly over whooped out roads.
Both ends are undersprung, and the compression damping appears to be too linear, the damping needs to be more proggressive.
It was set up for touring more than sporting from the factory.

You need to do the above firstbefore messing with the rebound and compression on the shock!!!

my 2c worth. I weigh 84 kg and done some experimenting. I found that the compromise for myself is 5 "lines" showing on the front preload. (actually found that it upsets too much by going further) , 6 clicks out on compresion, 5 on damping. For the rear, as per book recommendation. Have found the rear actually fairly sprung. As I say, my 2 c worth.

Just tried something. Looks like the comp and damp setting on my rear spring has almost no effect. Amazing, tapped the screw all the in and out, and very little if any change. Anyone else tries this?
