Pilot Powers on my 14! Got about 100 miles on them. Immediate improvement in ride quality! Haven't hit the turns hard yet(wanted to scuff'em up good) but, I'm sure they wont disappoint!
They seem to take the edge off the small bumps.
Have I said how much I like these tires yet?
I just got a set of the "New" Pirelli Diablo Corsa III's & the Avon Viper Super Sport AV59 & 60's. I will be putting one of these sets on my spare set of rims for the ZX10R. I'll post a review when this happens. Both of the tires seem to have the same pliable "feel" to them as the P.P.'s have. I've heard alot of good things about the Pirellis'. I'm looking forward to checking them out!

Have P/Powers on now. They are nice, they break in quick no issuses other than a slight back and forth pull at low speeds only on the front. Has any one else noticed this?? My quess would be tread pattern, as it does not affect anything over maybe 5 mph.

I don't spend much time under 5mph to have noticed that. That is unexceptable! That's it! They're comin off! LOL!

zx1kr I tried out a set of PP's a few months ago. I had some problems with them on the 14. If I mention it in here I am going to get jumped all over lol. Hit me up with a message and I will tell you what you should be looking out for. I hope i am wrong trust me but I still need someone else to confirm or deny this. I have been waiting for someone else to check this for me on thier 14. I have checked this on two 14's so far. Your opinion will be the third. So let me know if you want to check this out or not. No biggy either way. Ah Tool Man finally someone else willing to step up on a problem. I had very similar problems. And I believe that it is as you said tire shape and pattern. I don't want to get all these people freaked out.
But I would like to compare notes with you on this one if you ever want. I have discussed this with Techs from Dunlop to Bridgestone and then some. We all came to the same conclusion. For now I will keep quiet.

Well I can say I love these tires! I've put 3000 km on them and they are awesome! I know what you mean, Toolman, about the back and forth at lower speeds.

Ya, that it is so minor it is NOT a problem just something I noticed.

ZX1400A6F <----- could your problem be unique to your ZX14 with the PP's? I'm willing to listen to your experience.
I'm not one of these folks who cares about getting a million miles out of a set of tires. And I'll put extra effort into the burnouts at the strip if i don't like the tires. It just doesn't matter LoL

At first I was convinced something was wrong with my 14 and was about 2 inches away from selling it and buying a new one. Atcually I was going to buy the new one then sell it. But then I got a second 14 and we tested it out on that one. Same problem i was relieved.
What happened in my case was that the pp's were making the bike walk to the right. If I took my hands off i could count 1 2 3 4 and then I would hit the curb if I didn't grab back on. Like if you take your hands off the bars lets say to fix your zipper or something the bars were trembling back and fourth. I hate typing I don't even want to get into this lol. Just let go of your bars and see if this is the case. zx1kr you own a machine shop you should be the perfect person to ask. Let off the bars and just tell me if the bike is rolling tru. You know what I mean. Just sit up straight let go and she should stay straight as can be. I have let off stock forever and just rolled. As soon as I went to the pp's she wouldn't ride tru. I couldn't figure it out it was driving me crazy. I know one guy that also says it is happening to his 14. But he says I never let go of the bars anyway so to each is own. I am in tune with my bike at all times. And was totally dissapointed that I couldn't run the pp's thats all end of story. Oh and yes they were balanced properly as well as mounted the same. All together I rode three 14's with the pp's same shit on all three. I just don't want anyone to get hurt. I'm not into just saying what I think or want. That's not my style. I just like watching out for other riders. i could fucking hate someone and knock their teeth out. But if I see them down on the road or even having a problem with some driver. Then i am the first to pop off and help no matter who it is. I would say in the last two months I have picked up about 4 riders and one chick that flipped off the back. She was in shorts and a tee shirt. Heavy heavy skin damage she was screaming and shit. A few of my regular places I go to and hang are all serious bikers. Most with allot of track time. All walking around in full leathers with their pucks scraped to shit. I can't hang with those guys that's for sure. I mean there are always a few fools but these are the guys i know. Most of my boys have expert licenses. The stories I could tell. I wish we had a chat with voice it would be tight no typing lol. I went to the store 2 weeks ago and a group of 600 fly boys come around the corner kind of zipping and I think to myself I guess they want to push and enjoy the turns. And I thought for a second must be kids. On the way back there he was in the bushes. His jeans ripped off and his leg all fucked up. I don't want to come in here and hear that we lost someone that's all. And the computer tough guy thing not for me. I think I went for that on Yahoo when I was 15 lol. Peace...........

Zx1400a6f, I have actually taking my hands off the bars quite a few times to zip my jacket or mess with my Ipod and my bike tracks straight as an arrow, BUT I only have the rear pilot power on front is still stock. Makes me wonder if the front is the proplem. I won't know this year as my front is not worn out yet. Maybe someone else on here will try it out and see.

I'll give it a try. Like I said I've got 100 miles on the 14 w/ the pp's on her. I haven't tried taking my hands off the bars w/ any noticable problems. Next time I get on the 14 I'll make it a point to do that & will post my findings. Thanks for the heads up though!

Bently you just answered a question I was pondering. My kneedragging boys around here are so against riding on unmatched front/rear tires. To the point I bought a front PP to go with the 2 PP rears I ordered for the road. The 2 rears are because the drag strip is being hard on my back tire. I wondered if I was wasting time and money buying the front, but figure the factory wheel has 2700 miles on it now so no biggy.

Thanks for sharing-
If my PP's do that after I have them installed I'll have the best burn out pics ya'll have ever seen!

My bike had the problem of wondering to one side . In the end it was because my track or rear alignment was not perfect.

I had assumed he had checked all the obvious such as alignment of everything, tire not defective, or anything a proffesional tire man would check and look for.

I have seen guys bring there bike to the shop because it would not track straight, and there rear tire was not aligned straight from a poor chain adjustment.

I'm going to allow Cycle Gear to my my PP's on when they get here. Since I'm slightly concerned now, I might mention to them "I've heard these tires are difficult to get right, people leave shops with their bikes drifting to the left or right"
Maybe it'll go straight without me taking it back. I blistered so many sets of PP's on my ZX9 its incredible, never had such a problem

I've also had them on everthing from my Busa to a zx10 to a zx12. Have a buddy who runs them on his Sv650, and another Buddy who has them on his busa as well as a sprint st and everone loves them and has no issues. I will be installing a front when mines worn out and see if it tracks right or not

I just got in from a day of tearin' it up on the 14 w/ Pilots installed. No negative issues whatsoever! Hands off at a variety of speeds w.no pulling either direction.
These tires are my favorite street tires to date bar none!

Interesting info. Please keep it updated. I've had nothing but outstanding luck w/PP's on several different bikes. It's my plan to go to them on the 14. I hope that remains so...

Zx1kr, same results as every bike I've been around with pilot powers. The dealer I work at sells the most of that tire.
