Serious ? Concerning the Kawasaki emblem application please.

I am trying to do something and I am in need of some information. How do you apply the KAWASAKI < stainles emblem onto a side panel ?? I have heard a bunch of tricks but I'm sure that someone from this site will know better then me. I am most likely going to go to this that does this type of thing professionally. But what was wondering what is involved with this application. Any info is fully appreciated.

Not that I have done it but ......... I would lay them out on a piece of blue painters tape first
(up side down) to get the proper spacing and line, then peal the adheisive backing off the letters, and using another piece of blue tape on the fairing for location - then stick it.

I guess you'll only get one shot at it, so take your time !

Is this a decal you are talking about?

If so, get your alignment marks set up with painters tape as stated above.

Have a spray bottle with a water/dish washing detergent solution handy.

Have a small squeegie handy.I use a 4" window tinting rubber squeegie that costs about a buck anywhere window tint is sold.

Spray the application area liberally with the soap solution.

Place the decal (after removing the backing) where you want it. It will move around freely.

When it is positioned perfectly, start (gently) squeegying the water/soap solution out from under the decal. Work from the center out in both directions ensuring any air bubbles are pushed out as you go.Spray the surface of the decal with the soap solution as you do this to cut down on friction.

When everything is completely squeegied, gently wipe the are with a clean terry towel.

If you are happy at this point, hit it for about 2 minutes with medium heat from a hair dryer. There is no turning back at this point.

Let the decal set up over night (not in a freezing garage) and in the morning you are good to go.

OK for starters blitzkrieg what you are saying is kind of exactly what I heard. It came from someone that I feel knows the most about this issue that's in my area. Yes you only get one chance you are correct sir. So I bought two of them lmao. I don't want to fuck it up and then be sitting there with my dick in my hand and no second chance lol. I believe this place that specializes in sticker apllications and such should do the trick. Ah htosado curious you are. You are like Dubious curious as well as perceptive lol. Anyone that can't admitt they got a few sratches and must replace several parts is a pussy and a closet rider lol. No I did not go down if I did I would have no problem telling you the story and would sell the bike if I did. I don't like or want any bike that's been down because I will always think something is tweeked lol. I would grab a left over 06 14 or the 07. This story is rather boring lol. So yeah you will see several blue 14 parts on e-bay when I get a chance. It is nothing but some very small scratches and being a perfectionist I must have everything perfect. Yes if I had to do the emblem myself I would make a templet of the other side and tape off the area in reverse of the other side. But we will see. So if you need any blue 14 parts that are slightly sratched and not fucked up then check out e-bay in about a week or two. Yes my baby got scratched but oh well as long as the bike didn't get hurt then plastic is just plastic. Licking my wounds lol. Oh and Dubious I am ZX14.Com they ask me to kill the name being it's their site name lol. You know me always trying to be different. So I like my new name as well. Lets keep that between you and I and the wall lol.
Slightly Upset lol.

Ah thanks misery loves company lol. Could you give me a call so I can vent. I need a shoulder to cry on lol. A few smaller parts or back ordered I really hope that doesn't mean weeks lol. These are my favorite weeks to ride. I love september and even october nice and cool. Anyone know what Kawi means when they say back ordered. My parts guy says that doesn't mean shit because they fill those back orders pretty quick. We shall see. What happend did you have your chain gaurd off ?? Did the chain snap ?? That can be dangerous it could even rip your foot off. Glad you don't seem to have had that happen.
