Rain in the intake ? Is there any danger of sucking up rain in a heavy down pour ? I don't go looking to ride in the rain but sometimes shit happens. I had to pour water out of my boots last time. No ill effects yet but I'm concerned !

I've never had any probs with rain (other than the ZX14 is such a sweet bike it tries to melt)

Any rain is gonna hit the back of the airbox and drain via the tubes. No worries. Anytime you take a high speed column of air and bend it, the moisture tends to seperate out and splat against the nearest walls. ____________

Look down on the lower left side of the bike near the shifter? Somewhere behind the fairing piece(?) you will see what looks like a clear plastic bottle with a removable plug on the bottom? Any hose you see along side that also has a plug at the end of the hose; is for water/condensation build in the post chamber-A/C cavity... due to rain, fog, etc.
Simply pull the plug, and drain whatever is in the hose? When you change oil, drain the hose(s) as well.
If you hit rain... uncap and drain. It was all designed-in from the get-go. Recap the hose, or dirt will be sucked up the tube on the intake strokes!
Besides, a little steam exploding the carbon off the cylinder chamber is a good thing.... less compression build up = less chance of engine knock.

Thanks speedgene. That is some great info. I'm going to look for the plastic bottle today. I have seen the other hoses and wondered why they had caps on them. Thanks again. I'm not worried anymore.
