Welcome , Do not think they run Syn. oil from factory. I changed mine at 600 and 3000 and will go to full syn at 6000. Runs great ____________

This is what I was told by Cycle World service department, the head mechanic had called Kawasaki and they told him that use only synthetic oil in the engine because that's what the factory uses. There was an arguement between service people as one guy said should use semi-synthetic better for clutch wear. But again I was told to use full synthetic cause that's the word from Kawasaki Canada. So if this is correct that basically answers all the oil questions about synthetic or not.

If that is true then i guess i made a good decision , Mobil MX4T full synthetic at 800 miles over here ____________ '06 Passion Red ZX-14

Well I was told also to keep my invoices from Cycle world to show that I used synthetic oil so not to void the warranty from Kawasaki. So i guess thats further proof.

Man Voiding the warranty for non synthetic oil what will they think of next? LOL!
Seems each dealer has a different take on what will void you out.
Mine isn't picky about oil though , the guy even said i can even be a traitor and use honda oil if i wanted to

If the bike requires synthetic oil, they would have to explicitly call it out in the manual in the section describing what kinds of oils can be used and the quantities required. There is no such requirement, and the recommended Kawachem oil is just regular 10w40, not a full synthetic, nor a blend. I don't care what the dealer says they learned from big-K. The manual states exactly what is needed for warranty, no words about synthetic, then it's not required, nor comes with it from the factory.
I have had vehicles that came with that from the factory, and it states clearly in the manuals in bold that deviation from synthetic would void the warranty.

I believe the engines are ran briefly on each bike before they leave, and the dealers just top it off, but I could be wrong.

Most bikes out of the crate need no oil added to them at all, they come full. And I'm almost 100 percent sure it don't have synthetic in it from the factory, sounds like a dealer trying to sell you higher priced oil.
