getting to the front sprocket question.

Do you need to remove the left lower to get to the counter shaft? And Is the sprocket cover a real pain in the ass, or am I missing something simple? I've removed 4 screws from the cover, but it still wont budge. Is there one I'm just not seeing?

Remove the left lower fairing. You have 4 bolts that go around the sprocket cover and 1 bolt (kind of a long one) that's on the slave cylinder. The slave cylinder has 3 bolts. Remove the top one and the cover should come right off. It's easier, too, if you remove the speed sensor. Then it won't be in the way.

thanks Mokaw. It was the super long one in the slave cylinder. I was expecting some type of fluid to come rushing out, but I finally just said to hell with it. I'll be buying a service manual this week.

I got the 16t installed with relative ease afterwards.
