I'll be dammed, I would have never thought this could happen. After his post my conclusion was pretty close, but I really did not think it was possible.
One thing I'm a disappointed about, the quickness that he assumed that Kawasaki had done wrong. At the very least he owes Kawasaki an "I'm Sorry"

My question is; How did this cause the back wheel to lock up the same time as the rear? Obviously a bit of bad luck on that getting wedged in the front end. Seems like it would have had to be airborn to get in the front fender. Maybe it came off the truck as passing. As stated there was no-one in front of him or the semi.

The truck driver stated it looked like the back wheel locked, correct? At a vantage point behind a bike in a different lane, the front tire getting locked, and smoked at 60mph would look like the rear locked.

I have a 2006 zx14 and on sunday 2-3-08 I was I was riding and when trying to shift from 2nd to 3rd gear the shifter would not move and the bike then made a clunking noise and the rear wheel locked up causing me to crash. I took the bike to a bike shop for crash inspection and they found the transmission input shaft bearing retainer screws had backed out causing the input shaft to move and lock the trans in 2 gears.

Sounds like a BS story to me. I bought a 85 900 ninja in early 85, after the break-in period I did some mods and was testing it in north alabama on Mt. Cheaha, the front brakes locked up at 155mph, tire blew out , we measured the black mark left after tire lockup and it was 300 ft long, that's when I went down, but it was probably less than 2 seconds from lock-up. Iwas working at a Kaw dealer at the time and contacted Kaw about the issue. It wasn't pilot error. It was a mechanical failure do to some hard road work and braking previous to the crash. That was when they were just developing metallic brake pads and having compatability issues with SS rotors. Lotsa press on that then. Kawasaki ask if I could get the bike put togther enough for a factory pilot to come ride it. They showed up from California, we took the bike out to a safe stretch and the pilot did full front lock stops at 10 mph increments starting at 60mph. When he reached 90 the front wheel started hopping really bad. That's when he stopped and said there was nothing wrong with the bike. Long story short Kaw bailed on me, all I wanted them to do was give me dealer cost for the bike and put it in their service school in Atlanta for techs to take apart and put back together again. None of that happened. Kawasaki had a copy of the accident report which stated I was going 55mph, the trooper thought I had gone through enough that day and gave me a break. 155 gets you jail. Moral of the story, do not expect Kawasaki to do anything. They ask me why I was going 155, I said why did you build a bike that would go that fast? No response. My lawyer said based on the accident info, no law suit.
As for the Gixxer frame breakage, I replaced a frame on one last year that had cracked midway under the right side of the tank.
I also had a bone stock Busa that one of the two 6mm oil pickup pipe fasteners had fallen out, got between the fly wheel and bottom case and was mashed right out of the case. Busa was 6 months out of warranty, motor never apart and Suzi said tuff crap.
