Drag Racers. . . Question?
Who of you that drag race on a pretty regular basis have removed the sec. flies?
Both at stk wheelbase as well as stretched, I'm looking for a comparison,
stk or piped, any and all comments welcome.
I don't want a TRE vs. flies out debate just what you have actually experienced
Is it just too much torque to launch at 60" with the flies removed?
Thanks for the help!

You haven't launched until you remove the flies, add a 16 tooth front sprocket, and map in a power commander.

Take them out then have it mapped...it'll be awhole different bike. Light weight guys like the flies in because they dont have enough ass to keep the front end down. It will take more clutch control but i think over all, it will help you alot.

And you have been to the track and know this for a fact?? What were you 60s and 330 times? Please don't be telling people things if you don't have the real data......
P/S didn't mean for that to be nasty ..But we need hard facts from people that race the zx14 on the track and not the seat of the pants street riding ..Hope you understand... smokin..

I couldn't get mine to bite at all Wed. with the flies out for the first time, stk wheel base, strapped & lowered, PC, 16t, Brock/Hindle Gen 3, tre for same gear timing, spun throught the first 2.5 gears no mateer what rpm I left at, 1,300 to 5,000, but they really didn't prep the track hardly at all, just vht on the first 60', it was TO that night and a low turnout.

But you are telling me it is still very drivable, I have no problems with traction now, might be a welcome problem.

swft...did you try and un-strap the front end alittle? I have to do this at my track when it's not hooking.
